Abstract:
Abstract:
Leather and similar materials are formed using graduated molds. A solvent is applied to the leather to saturate the leather. The saturated leather is put through a series of molds, each being more pronounced than the previous. An elastomer is applied after molding to provide structural support for features created through molding.
Abstract:
A method for monitoring die cutting comprising the steps of placing at least one cutting die on a hide, each cutting die having a particular pattern and an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tag coupled thereto, each RFID tag containing die-related information about that particular cutting die, repeatedly reading at least one RFID tag to obtain the die-related information for each RFID tag in real-time, based on the die-related information, determining whether the hide is ready for cutting, generating an output based on with whether the hide is ready for cutting, and when the hide is ready for cutting, cutting the hide.
Abstract:
A method and a system for manufacturing footwear, said footwear comprising at least two footwear parts, e.g. shoe parts, which footwear parts are at least partly connected together by stitching for forming at least part of an upper part of said footwear. The method comprises - providing a base layer, - providing said at least two footwear parts and positioning said at least two footwear parts on said base layer, - fixating said at least two footwear parts on said base layer in respective relative positions corresponding to predefined connected positions, - connecting said at least two footwear parts with each other by an automated stitching, and - further processing the at least two footwear parts in connected form to provide said footwear.
Abstract:
A composite sheet material (100) comprising a set of minor sheets (10, 50, 60, 70) is disclosed, wherein each of said minor sheets (10, 50, 60, 70) comprises at least one first bonding portion (14) and at least one second bonding portion (16) with a structure for bonding or linking with said first bonding portion (14), and wherein the first bonding portion (14) of the minor sheet (10, 50, 60, 70) shall bond with the second bonding portion (16) of the adjacent minor sheet (10, 50, 60, 70). For bonding one minor sheet to another minor sheet, the composite sheet material (100) may further comprise a backing layer (30) bonding to one surface of the minor sheets (10, 50, 60, 70) with an adhesive (20).
Abstract:
Manufacturing process of a leather eyeglasses frame and eyeglasses frame obtained with such a process. Eyeglasses frame wherein the frontal lens-holder frame, and possibly each of the two lateral temples, are made of two identical layers of leather (1,2; 10,20), between which a thin reinforcing metal core (4;40) is concealingly inserted.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a steering wheel (1) having a rim (4) comprising an armature (5) encapsulated by a cover (6) of resilient material. The cover (6) has a fixing groove (8) or recess formed therein so as to extend around the rim generally circumferentially with respect to the steering wheel. An outer skin (7) is formed from flexible material and is provided over and around the cover (6) such that two opposed edges (29) of the outer skin are both positioned within the fixing groove (8) or recess and fixed therein. The outer skin (7) comprises at least one seam (28d, 28e) terminating in a seam-end 33 located along a said edge (29) of the outer skin (7) such that each edge (29) of the outer skin positioned within the fixing groove (8) or recess has at least one said seam-end (33), and wherein the or each seam-end (33) formed along one said edge (29) is circumferentially offset around the rim (4) from the or each seam-end (33) formed along the other said edge (29).
Abstract:
Saddle with passively morphing interface panels and method of use, wherein passively morphing interface panels morphs in surface profile to be reshaped upon contact with a supporting surface of a horse's dynamic back and of horses of varying sizes and shapes, so that a direct load path is created from the riders concentrated downward weight on a Chassis through a pair of symmetrically opposed Line of Contact edges, aligned with tilted sagittal plane sections through the horse's back surface, and making contact with the midline area of opposed pair of elements made of rigid materials that are caused to tip out of plane until moment forces are balanced, which occurs when the Element's entire length makes contact with the supporting horse's back causing the elements Interface's surface profile to be reshaped, without directed input, to momentarily match the varying supporting surface profiles of a horse's dynamic back.
Abstract:
Provided is a composite bonded leather material. The material may be used as flooring, for wall applications or for ceiling applications. A leather layer is bonded to a substrate layer using adhesive. The substrate layer may be agglomerated cork or wood fiber. The leather layer may be textured or may be prefinished.
