Abstract:
A water-based humidity resistant adhesive compositions comprising (i) about 30 wt% to about 80 wt% of an acrylic copolymer emulsion and (ii) about 2 wt% to about 40 wt% of an adhesion promoter of a water-based chlorinated or maleic anhydride modified polyolefin. The adhesive effectively bonds a sheet membrane to a substrate of steel, wood, concrete, a roof board, insulation, or a fiberglass mat. Also disclosed is a method of bonding the sheet membrane, such as TPO, to a substrate with the adhesive composition, and a method of preparing the adhesive composition.
Abstract:
A high performing low viscosity tire sealant includes about 15% to about 75% by weight of a biobased aliphatic diol, about 5% to about 50% by weight natural rubber latex, and about 2% to about 50% by weight synthetic rubber latex. The tire sealant exhibits excellent performance at temperatures of -40 degrees Celsius and lower.
Abstract:
Pigmented latex compositions having a solids content in the range from 60 wt % to 95 wt % comprise a vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer dispersion (VAE dispersion) and one or more plasticizers from the group of polyethylene glycol diesters of polyethylene glycols having 3 to 10 ethylene glycol units with C1-C10 alkyl carboxylic acids wherein the carboxylic acids are identical or different and are branched or unbranched alkyl carboxylic acids. The high solids pigmented latex compositions are particularly useful for the preparation of mastic and caulk compositions.
Abstract:
An animal toy is provided constructed from a latex or natural rubber material and formed into a ball. The ball is formed of an aggregate of particulate material that are bound together to form a substantially non- hollow construction. Pieces of latex are joined together to form balls, and the balls may be pressed together and constructed by hand or, alternatively, pressed into molds. By constructing the balls by hand, no two balls, even balls of similar size, are identical. Each ball has irregular outer surface that forms a variety of resilient protuberances that provide beneficial oral hygiene effects when chewed or rubbed against the teeth.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process of introducing filler nanoparticles into a polymer to form a nanocomposite, the process comprising synthesis of nanoparticles in-situ of aqueous polymer by nucleation and growth of nanoparticles from a precursor solution under the hydrothermal conditions without destabilizing the polymer, wherein the filler nanoparticles are metal-oxide nanoparticles and polymer is rubber latex.
