Abstract:
Wellbore strengthening compositions and methods of use are disclosed herein, where the wellbore strengthening compositions may include a base fluid and a plurality of hydrogel particles or a plurality of core-shell particles suspended in the base fluid.
Abstract:
A method of servicing a wellbore comprising placing a composition comprising a surfactant, brine, an oleaginous fluid, and optionally a co-surfactant in an annular space of the wellbore, wherein the composition forms a microemulsion under low shear conditions.
Abstract:
According to one aspect of the invention, emulsion compositions are provided. Emulsions according to this aspect include: (a) a water-insoluble resinous material; (b) water; and (c) an emulsifier, wherein the emulsifier comprises a non-ionic, a cationic, or a zwitterionic emulsifier; wherein the continuous phase of the emulsion comprises the water; wherein a dispersed phase of the emulsion comprises the resinous material; wherein the dispersed phase is in the form of droplets having a size distribution range such that at least 50% of the droplets have a size of 0.5 micrometers - 500 micrometers; wherein the resinous material of the droplets is in a concentration of at least 5% by weight of the water; and wherein the composition of the droplets has a viscosity of less than 2,000 Poise (2,000 g/(cm.s)) measured at 20°F (-6.6°C). According to another aspect of the invention, methods are provided for treating a portion of a subterranean formation. Methods according to this aspect include the steps of: (a) forming an emulsion according to the composition described above; and (b) introducing the emulsion into a portion of a subterranean formation.
Abstract:
Wellbore fluids containing poly(trimethylene ether)glycols are provided. The wellbore fluids can provide enhanced functionality, improved cost effectiveness, and reduced environmental impact as compared to conventional wellbore fluids.

Abstract:
A new stable liquid suspension containing non-soluble particles dispersed in a non-aqueous liquid medium having a concentration of a suspension aid and a method of making and use thereof.
Abstract:
A drilling fluid or mud is described wherein the drilling fluid contains at least one alkali metal formate or monovalent carboxylic acid salt. The drilling fluid preferably further contains at least one emulsifier or surfactant and at least one hydrocarbon-based fluid. The drilling fluids of the present invention can contain other conventional ingredients. The present invention permits drilling fluids to be essentially solids free due to to the use of the alkali metal formate.
Abstract:
The invention concerns modified hydrophobic polyelectrolytes by amide formation of a hydrophilic skeleton by n-alkylamines whereof the alkyl chain comprises 6 to 22 carbon atoms. Preferably, the amide formation is obtained by di-n-dodecylamine. The hydrophilic skeleton is preferably a sodium polyacrylate or polyacrylic acid corresponding to a statistical acrylate-AMPS copolymer. Said polymers can be used for stabilising direct or invert emulsions likely to be destabilised or inverted by a modification in the degree of salinity of the aqueous phase or a pH modification. The invention is particularly useful for stabilising oil drilling fluids or the like in particular drilling, fracturation, acidification or completion fluids.
Abstract:
The invention provides a demulsifier compound, formulations comprising the demulsifier compound, and methods for preparing the demulsifier compound.
Abstract:
