Beschrieben wird ein Kühlschmierstoff für das Kaltwalzen von Aluminium, enthaltend - ein mineralölbasiertes oder synthetisches Grundöl, - einen Polyalkylenglykol oder eine eine Polyalkylenoxidstruktur enthaltende Verbindung, wobei - der Kühlschmierstoff nicht wasserlöslich oder mit Wasser mischbar ist und - der Kühlschmierstoff im Wesentlichen frei von Fettsäuren und Fettalkoholen ist.

A lubricant composition capable of dispersing process chemicals, extractables from non-metallic compressor components and mineral oil contamination in a refrigeration system comprising hydrofluorocarbon refrigerant gas is described. The lubricant composition comprises a synthetic refrigerator oil and 0.01 to 0.8 % by weight of a specific polyalkylene glycol additive.

A capped oil soluble polyalkylene glycol has the following structure: R 1 O-(AO) n -R 2 where: R 1 is a linear or branched alkyl or aryl with one to 18 carbon atoms; AO refers to residuals of monomers selected from 1,2-butylene oxide and 1,2-propylene oxide selected so that at least 50 weight-percent of the (AO) n component is 1,2-butylene oxide residuals; n is selected to provide a kinematic viscosity at 100 degrees Celsius of less than 5 centiStokes for the non-capped polyalkylene glycol; and R 2 is a linear or branched alkyl or aryl having from 1-8 carbon atoms and wherein the capped oil soluble polyalkylene glycol is characterized by having a kinematic viscosity of less than 4.5 centiStokes at 100 degrees Celsius and a viscosity index of greater than 150.

La présente invention est relative à des compositions lubrifiantes pour moteur comprenant au moins une huile de base, au moins un polymère améliorant l'indice de viscosité et au moins un polyalkylène glycol, obtenu par polymérisation ou copolymérisation d'oxydes d'alkylène comprenant de 3 à 8 atomes de carbone, dont au moins un oxyde de butylène, la quantité de polyalkylène glycol étant de 1 à 28% en masse, par rapport à la masse totale de composition lubrifiante. L'utilisation d'au moins un polyalkylène glycol, obtenu par polymérisation ou copolymérisation d'oxydes d'alkylène comprenant de 3 à 8 atomes de carbone, dont au moins un oxyde de butylène dans une huile de base permet d'améliorer la propreté moteur sans augmenter, voire en réduisant, la consommation de carburants essence ou diesel.

Disclosed is an oxyalkylene-modified polyoxybutylene alcohol having an improved viscosity index. Notably enhancement of the viscosity index is obtained when the polyoxybutylene alcohol contains an internal oxypropylene or oxyethylene block; and wherein the total amount of converted butylene oxide in the molecule is from 99 to 75 parts per 100 parts by weight of the total converted alkylene oxide.

The disclosed technology relates to a lubricant composition containing a polyalkylene glycol in which greater than 50% of the repeating units in the polyalkylene glycol contain an alkylene oxide derived moiety comprising a C4 or greater alkyl group. The lubricant compositions are particularly useful in compressors, such as a reciprocating rotary vane, scroll, or rotary screw air compressor.
