Abstract:
The present invention relates to a substantially odor-free polyhydroxyl solvent, and method of making such odor-free solvent. More specifically, it relates to liquid detergent compositions comprising substantially odor-free polyhydroxyl solvents.
Abstract:
The water-based cleaning agents proposed have a pH between 5 and 9 in the undiluted state and contain, in addition to 1 to 25 % by wt. of non-ionic or anionic surfactant, 0.1 to 12 % by wt. of a monoalkyl diethylene glycol ether with 1 to 4 C-atoms in the alkyl group. The agents are intended for use above all in the undiluted state for cleaning hard surfaces and in the diluted state for cleaning textile floor coverings.
Abstract:
The water-based agents proposed have a pH between 5 and 9 in the undiluted state and contain, in addition to surfactants and waxes or polymers as film-forming materials, an alcohol selected from the group comprising benzyl alcohol, 2-phenylethanol, 2-phenoxyethanol and mixtures thereof. The agents are intended for use above all in the diluted state for the cleaning and maintenance of floors.
Abstract:
The invention allows cleaning of poorly accessible machine parts, e.g. in the transport and/or moulding of materials in the pasty state by addition of one or more inorganic or organic solvent(s) and one or more inorganic or organic salt(s) which are soluble therein, preferably as a solution, to the material to be processed. The melting point of the salt(s) is above the processing temperature of the material. The boiling point of the solvent(s) is below the processing temperature of the material. The invention finds its application in the change over of material to be processed in plastic processing machines, such as, injection moulding machines, extruders and blow-moulding equipment by accelerating the removal of the previous substance from the plasticizer unit and the nozzle region; an analogous field of use is, e.g. in the operation of kneaders.
Abstract:
Compositions containing a C3-10 hydrofluorocarbon, a cosolvent and a surfactant including at least one imidazoline are useful for removing water from a solid surface.
Abstract:
Detergent compositions having good filming/streaking characteristics contain effective amounts of specific substantive materials to increase the hydrophilicity of the glass. Preferred formulas contain an amphoteric, including zwitterionic, and optionally, but preferably, anionic detergent sufactant at levels (e.g. from about 0.02 to about 15 %); hydrophobic solvent; alkaline material, especially volatile alkaline materials comprising monoethanolamine or certain beta-amino-alkanol compounds; and salt of polycarboxylate, preferably polyacrylate, polymer at effective levels (e.g., from about 0.01 % to about 10 % by weight of the composition).
Abstract:
Compositions comprising 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane and at least one surfactant chosen from amine-, carboxylic acid diester- and phosphoric acid ester-type hydrophobic organic surfactants, are useful for removing water from a solid surface.
Abstract:
Aqueous detergents contain an anionic surface-actif agent, alcohol or etheric alcohol as water-miscible organic solvent, ammonia or alkanolamine as alkali and a carboxylic acid having up to 6 C atoms. The equivalent ratio between alkali and carboxylic acid lies between 1 : 0.9 and 1 : 0.1. These new detergents are characterized by a high cleaning power, the absence of residues and gentle treatment of materials.
Abstract:
A concentrated detergent formulation effective to remove grease includes a glycol ether solvent system in combination with a high concentration of a surfactant system stably dispersed in water. The surfactant system is preferably a combination of a hydrotrope and a nonionic surfactant with a concentration preferably in the range of 7 % or greater. The glycol ether solvent system can be any of a number of glycol ethers with dipropylene glycol n-butyl ether and dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether preferred. The formulation can be used at high concentrations to effectively remove baked-on grease in deep fryers and clean parking lots and can be used at a lower concentration as a presoak and even at a more dilute concentration for general purpose degreasing and spray and wipe cleaner. The product is low alkaline and non-corrosive.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a glass cleaning composition comprising a silicone glycol, a zwitterionic or anionic surfactant, an aliphatic alcohol, a monoalkyl ether of a glycol and water.
