Abstract:
The aim of the present invention is to adapt a traditional sewing machine so that minimal adjustments are required to sew several different types of stitches. Several solutions are suggested for alternatively sewing stitches 512 and 514, comprising two needle threads, i.e. one gripper underthread and one gripper overlock thread. In one of the embodiments of said invention, the carrier (19) of the overlock gripper can be set in a first operational position, where both needle threads are interlinked together with the gripper overlock thread, and moved to a second operational position, where only the needle thread adjacent to the seam of the object being sewn is interlinked together with the gripper overlock thread. In another embodiment of said invention, two thread eyes (29, 30) are provided in the overlock gripper, at a given distance from each other, and the gripper overlock thread is passed through one of the needle eyes to form one of the types of stitches, and through the other needle eye to form the other type of stitch. Stitch type 504, comprising three threads, can be formed by removing one of the needles. To form stitch type 502, comprising a needle thread and a gripper underthread, without a gripper overhead thread, an overhead gripper (41) on the gripper carrier, having a forked catching tip (44), can be moved between a rest position and an operational position, in which the catching tip of the overhead gripper forms an extension of the catching tip fork branch of the overhead gripper furthest from the needle, by which the gripper underthread is carried around the seam of the object being sewn and positioned in front of the needle for insertion. In order to improve the tensile strength of the stitching, additional stitching tools for forming a double chain stitch seam of stitch type 401, DIN 61400, US Federal Standard Catalogue No 751, are added to the stitching tools for forming the corresponding overhead seam.
Abstract:
A method of applying stitching to an interior component is provided herein. The method including the steps of: a) penetrating an outer skin layer, a substrate layer and an intermediary layer of the interior component with an awl to form a piercing therethrough; b) retracting the awl from the outer skin layer, the substrate layer and the intermediary layer; c) inserting a needle through the piercing through the substrate layer, the intermediary layer and the outer skin layer to grasp a thread positioned on the outer skin layer; d) pulling the thread through the outer skin layer, the intermediary layer and the substrate layer; e) looping the thread with a previous stitch passed through the outer skin layer, the intermediary layer and the substrate layer; f) advancing the interior component to another position; and g) repeating steps a-f until a predetermined amount of stitches are applied to the interior component.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a machine (1) for sewing textile products (4), comprising a frame (2), at least one shaft (7), rotatably engaged with said frame (2) about a rotating axis (7'), motor means, connected with said at least one shaft (7) to make said at least one shaft (7) oscillate about said rotating axis (7'), at least one crochet device (8), comprising a support (9), where a through hole (11) is formed, in which said at least one shaft (7) is idly arranged, a hook (10), connected with said support (9), and coupling means (16b), for selectively coupling said support (9) to said at least one shaft (7), at least one needle device, adapted to cooperate with a crochet device (8) to perform at least one seam in a textile product (4). The present invention concerns also a crochet device (8).

Abstract:
A thread undercut attachment for use on multi-needle sewing machines uses a single piston (51) to actuate a cutting blade (57) which passes through the sewing area beneath the workpiece and above the loopers. To prevent the needles and loopers from becoming unthreaded or to prevent undue lengths of thread extending from either the work product or the needles after cutting, thread pullers (76 and 91) are provided for creating a measured amount of slack in the threads leading to the needles and loopers, and thread brakes (66, 71 and 81, 86) hold the threads firmly to prevent further payout of thread when the workpiece is pulled toward the operator and as the threads are cut.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A looper and knife driving mechanism of sawing machine, wherein an upper looper (30) and a lower looper (40) are provided under a needle plate (8), knife tips (31, 41) are disposed in the same direction so as to pass through the front side side-face of a needle (8) as viewed in the sawing direction, and the upper looper (30) and lower looper (40) are driven so that the routes thereof move on those surfaces substantially in parallel with each other in order to provide both the lock stitch and over-edge chain stitch functions and, in addition, form the sawing at once by a single sawing machine, the rotating motion of the upper shaft (S1) of the sawing machine is converted into a vertical motion through a motion converting mechanism (71) interlocked with the rotating motion so as to cut off a cloth edge (5c) by the vertical motion using an upper knife (72) and a lower knife (73) moving in association with the upper knife (72), the upper knife (72) being guided slidably by a female driving part (74) (710) pivotally supported by a machine frame FR and the motion converting mechanism (71) being connected to the upper knife (72) through a clutch (75)(750), whereby the clutch (75)(750) transmits a power to the upper knife (72) when the knife of the knife driving part (74)(710) is operated and drives the female driving part (74)(710) to an escape position when the knife is not operated so as to cut off a power to the upper knife (72).
