Abstract: Bei einem Verfahren bzw. einer Vorrichtung zur Herstellung von gebleichtem Zellstoff, bei dem eine Lignin und Zellstoff enthaltende Suspension wenigstens einem Verfahrensschritt zur sauerstoffunterstützten Bleiche in einem Reaktor unterzogen wird, wie der alkalischen Sauerstoffdelignifizierung, der sauerstoffverstärkten Extraktion oder der sauerstoffverstärkten Peroxidbleiche, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, dass der für die sauerstoffunterstützte Bleiche erforderliche Sauerstoff dem Reaktor zumindest teilweise in Form von Sauerstoff enthaltenden Nanobubbles zugeführt wird. Die geringe Größe und hohe Stabilität der Nanobläschen ermöglichen eine gleichmäßige Verteilung des Sauerstoffs in der Suspension und eine vergleichsweise lange Einwirkungszeit. Die Effizienz der Bleiche wird auf diese Weise wesentlich erhöht.

Abstract: A process for the isolation of cellulose nanofibers, in particular carboxylic acid functionalized cellulose nanofibers (MxG-CNF-CO2H) from the sustainable grass hybrid Miscanthus x. Giganteus (MxG). The process includes the steps of performing bleach treatment on a quantity of MxG followed by ammonium persulfate oxidation. The resulting MxG-CNF-CO2Hs have good dispersibility in aqueous and polar organic solvents. They are also able to form gels at relatively low concentrations. The MxG-CNF-CO2H show significantly higher reinforcement effect when compared to carboxylic acid functionalized cellulose nanocrystals at the same weight percent in a composite composition.

The process comprises the following consecutive stages: cooking comminuted fibrous material with alkaline cooking liquor in a kraft cooking process to produce pulp; treating the cooked pulp in caustic extraction at a temperature of 70-110 °C and in an effective alkali concentration of 60-120 g/l for at least 5 minutes, and washing and oxygen delignifying the caustic extracted pulp.
