Abstract: Internally colored glass and glass-like blocks (10) and the method for making them. No means for coating the internal cavities (26) of clear glass and glass-like hollow blocks has been available. Color coating provides aesthetically pleasing structures. Internally colored glass and glass-like blocks may be used in building internal room dividers, providing colorful building designs and for providing color relief in heretofore otherwise drab structures.

Abstract: A composite deck assembly includes a baseplate and a top plate secured to the baseplate. The baseplate is formed form a first composite matrix comprising strands of reinforcing fibers oriented in first direction and a polymer resin. The baseplate includes a plurality of ribs and a plurality of laterally extending open channels disposed between the ribs. The top plate is formed from a second composite matrix of reinforcing fibers in a polymer resin, and is secured, optionally releasably, to the baseplate so as to generally enclose at least a portion of the channels. All the reinforcing fibers in the baseplate may be limited to being either the strands oriented in the first direction or matted reinforcing fibers having a random orientation. At least one of the base section and the top plate may be translucent. The open channel configuration simplifies manufacture and lowers cost.

Abstract: This decorative glass enclosed floor cavity is a new innovation in flooring. The strip lights with dimmer give a special mood and the planter boxes filled with artificial plants in the bottom of the cavity give beauty and originality to its form. This decorative floor cavity has a specified size and shape according to the size of the raised floor in which it is built and is constructed with 4x4 posts attached to the finished floor of the cavity with post bases and an asymmetrical grid formed with 2x4s attached to 4x4 posts with hex bolts, deck screws and reinforced L brackets for support of a 3/8" regular or non-slip glass overlay which covers the entire cavity to expose lighting and artificial plants inside cavity. 3/8" raised floor finish flooring butts up against 3/8" glass overlay to form a level trimmed finished floor.

Abstract: The present invention comprises a series of blocks (1) made from a transparent material and with a mutually identical shape, which, by means of a mutual engagement system, form a transparent or translucent planar vault and remain in contact with one another via a thin joint (2), without frameworks being arranged between the blocks (1), thereby making the structure on which said vault rests, lighter and more transparent by reducing the weight not only of said vault but also of the corresponding horizontal thrusts thereof. The invention applies to the field of construction as not only a floor slab but also as a roof that lets light through to a room below.
