Abstract:
Abstract:
A post segment for a window grille configured to be attached to a window, the window grille comprising at least one grille panel configured for preventing entry or exit of a person through the window, the at least one grille panel comprising two side posts spaced apart by a plurality of crossbars, the post segment comprising: a body having a first end, a second end and a hole in a side of the body; wherein the first end and the second end are configured to allow the first end of one of the post segments to engage the second end of another of the post segments such that a plurality of the post segments can be assembled end-to-end to form each of the two side posts; and wherein the hole in the side of the body is configured to engage an end of one of the plurality of crossbars
Abstract:
Abstract:
A panel including a plurality of first members disposed in a first direction, at least one second member disposed in a second direction provided with a longitudinal opening extending at least partially through the at least one second member; a plurality of lateral openings intersecting the longitudinal opening to receive at least a portion of respective first members, and at least one locking member provided adjacent each lateral opening to abut a first member forced into the lateral opening, to lock the first member relative to the second member.
Abstract:
Plural blocks (14) of friction material are mounted inside an elongate hollow element (12), such as a box section steel housing, in a substantially parallel array. Respective spring means (16) hold the blocks (14) under spring bias. Such elements (12) are intended to be mounted to or built into the walls of security enclosures or buildings, or into security doors. If a would-be thief attempts to cut through the element (12) with known cutting or grinding equipment and cuts into any one of the blocks of friction material (14), the equipment will cease to operate effectively and will be immobilised because of the compressive force under which the block is held. The blocks (14a, b, c) are arranged with associated spring means (16a, b, c) in parallel rows with the respective blocks and springs of each row offset so that the spring or springs (16) of any one row overlap the location of the friction material blocks (14) of the adjacent row so that wherever a cutting tool may penetrate it will always encounter a friction block, even in cases when it first encounters a spring. The blocks (14) are advantageously enveloped in non-friction material (18) to ensure that parallel blocks can slide relative to each other.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an arrangement (1) for a grating (2) for windows and similar openings that it is wished to secure to make entry difficult, which comprises a number of bars (4 ; 5 -5 ) extending at an angle (x) in relation to one another, and the resulting grating (2) is capable of attachment to the surrounding frame or similar of the window, etc. In accordance with the invention the bars, which are made of tubes, exhibit a number of connecting parts (7, 8) distributed along their longitudinal extent (10, 11), which exhibit curved form. The aforementioned connecting parts (7, 8) on mutually intersecting bars are flattened and are so arranged as to be connected with one another in pairs. Connection is so arranged as to take place by plaiting, and the ends of the bars exhibit a widened locking part (14). Each of the aforementioned respective locking parts (14) is so arranged as to be capable of accommodation in its own locking accommodation opening in an attachment rail extending along the edge (17) in question of the the grating (2) and capable of attachment to the window frame.
Abstract:
A lattice work (5) comprises a number of first bars (1) and second bars (2) which extend at an angle to one another. The bars are interconnected by means of coupling elements (3) which are srewed to one another. The bars are interconnected by means of coupling elements (3) which are screwed to one another. The coupling elements each comprises a first coupling part (11) and a second coupling part (21) which are coupled to one another at a connecting surface (31) or connecting ring (31') by means of screw members (32). The first coupling part here comprises a first groove (12) in its connecting surface for receiving part of the first bar therein, which groove extends over the length of the coupling part. The second coupling part comprises a second groove (22) extending from a first side to a second side in its connecting surface so as to accomodate part of the second bar.
Abstract:
A hardened steel bar, sheet, plate or other shaped material suitable for security purposes is formed from a nitridable steel which has been subjected to austenitization, oil quenching, tempering and then nitriding to provide a hardened steel material having a surface hardness of at least about 50 HRC (Hardness Rockwell "C").
Abstract:
The invention is characterized by the connection between the plates (3 and/or 5) and the bars (1 and 2) which have narrowed or reduced section extremities; the extremities are provided with anchoring notches such as cottering, threading, saw teeth and the like, which are similar to those provided in the orifices of the plates (3 and 5), as well as means for fixing or connecting the gratings or bars to the wall, said means consisting of squares of which one of the wings (12) has back-folded extremities (13) while the other wing (10) has a hole (11).
