    Abstract: A stabilizer for use in a wellbore may include a downhole tubular configured to couple to a downhole conveyance in a wellbore, as well as two or more helical blades extending radially outward from the downhole tubular. The two or more helical blades are oriented about the downhole tubular to form respective flow paths between adjacent blades. Further, each blade of the two or more helical blades may include a line-of-sight face and a gauge ramp. The line-of-sight face is formed adjacent a leading inner blade wall of the blade at a lower end of the blade and is angularly offset from the leading inner blade wall. The gauge ramp extends from an outer surface of the downhole tubular toward an outer blade surface of the blade proximate the lower end of the blade.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a downhole well tool (1) for permanently sealing a downhole well (WE). The downhole well tool (1) comprises a housing (11), a first compartment (12) provided within the housing (11), an expandable sealing element (20) provided circumferentially outside a lower housing section (11b), thereby forming a second compartment (14) radially inside of the expandable sealing element (20) and radially outside of the lower housing section (11b). The tool further comprises a metal body (30) provided within the first compartment (12) and a setting system (50) comprising a heater (51) for melting the metal body (30). The tool (1) is configured to be in the following states: - a run state, in which the expandable sealing element (20) is radially retracted; - an intermediate state, in which the metal body (30) has been melted by the heater (51) and is flowing from the first compartment (12) to the second compartment (14); - a set state, in which the melted metal from the metal body (30) has been solidified within the second compartment (14).

    Abstract: Provided is a stabilizer for use in a wellbore. The stabilizer, in one example, includes a downhole tubular coupleable to a downhole conveyance in a wellbore. In accordance with this example, the stabilizer additionally includes two or more helical wellbore stabilizing elements extending radially outward from the downhole component, the two or more helical wellbore stabilizing elements shaped such that an annular flow area between leading edges of adjacent helical wellbore stabilizing elements and between trailing edges of adjacent helical wellbore stabilizing elements is variable along at least a portion of a length (L) of the two or more helical wellbore stabilizing elements, and such that an unobstructed axial flow path exists between the adjacent helical wellbore stabilizing elements along the length (L).

    Abstract: Systems and methods for cooling an electronics compartment of a downhole tool include a tool assembly. The tool assembly is an elongated member formed of axially aligned tool units. The tool units include a turbine and the electronics compartment. The electronics compartment has an interior cavity containing electronics components. The tool units further include a compressor powered by the turbine. The compressor is operable to compress a coolant fluid. The compressor has a central heat exchanger operable to cool a non-electrically conductive fluid with the coolant fluid. An impeller is rotated by the turbine. The impeller is operable to circulate the non-electrically conductive fluid past the electronics components.

    Abstract: A downhole steering tool includes one or more steering blades selectively extendable from a housing. Each steering blade may be extended by fluid pressure within a steering cylinder. Each steering cylinder may be coupled to the interior of a mandrel positioned within the housing through an adjustable orifice. The adjustable orifice may be moved between an open and a partially open position. The adjustable orifice may be solenoid controlled or controlled by a ring valve. The adjustable orifice may generate one or more pressure pulses to transmit data to the surface.
