Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention is a multifaceted inlayed panel combining various opaque, translucent, transparent or clear materials resulting in a product that allows extremely detailed Intricacies in design and suitable light levels for ceiling fixtures and other products. The initial process of combining a wide selection of different materials to create an intricate and precise design left a myriad of technical problems in the areas of aesthetics, precise reproduction, engineering and structural issues. The solution is a process where an opaque fabricated material panel can be adhered to a translucent under layer and then combined with various light trans-missive and other opaque surface elements which are all bonded to the translucent substrate and within the opaque surface material to maintain stability while creating the desired design and aesthetic goal. The panel is then incorporated within a framed box and back lit with a light source such as LED panels.
Abstract:
A lighting fixture can be configured to display reduced visibility of seams and hardware when illuminated. At the junction site between lighting modules of a modular lighting assembly, support hardware can be positioned within corresponding recesses in the respective coupling ends of the connected lighting modules. An outer element can also be wrapped around the respective outer edges of the coupling ends and partially into the junction site adjacent to the support hardware. Connective seams between the wrapped outer edges and support hardware at the junction between lighting modules can thus be de-emphasized when adjacent lighting elements are activated. Multiple, different shaped modules can be combined to create light fixtures of different shapes.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a light-emitting device comprising a light source (6), and two screens (2, 8), each having a regular structure of transparent areas. The first screen (2) is arranged at a first distance from the light source (6). The second screen (8) is arranged at a second distance from the light source (6) in such a way that opposite surfaces of the first and second screens are parallel to each other, a Moiré effect being created by the light projected through the screens.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a luminaire and in particular a, luminaire in the shape of a soccer ball which is illuminated with the aid of a LED light source in which the soccer ball can be build up from different segments. In accordance with the invention is a soccer ball luminaire provided, comprising a spherical housing, which spherical body is made of an at least partially light-transmitting plastic material and comprising at least one lighting module which is provided with at least one LED light source, wherein the spherical housing comprises a plurality of pentagonal and hexagonal detachable segments is for building up the ball, which pentagonal segments are provided on each side thereof of at least a first connection element and the hexagonal segments are provided on three opposite sides thereof of at least a second connecting element and on each of the other three opposite sides provided with a mainly flexible upstanding rim, wherein said flexible upstanding rim is arranged over the entire width of the side, and is directed toward the center of the luminaire, and wherein the first and second connecting elements together form a mating snap connection.
Abstract:
A light control device implemented as a luminaire (10) exhibits an ultra-wide batwing luminous intensity distribution in an upper hemisphere (102) that provides substantially uniform illumination of a ceiling surface (44), even when the luminaire is mounted very close to the ceiling. Luminous side panel diffusers (78, 80) facilitate blending the luminaire with the ceiling surface as they create a batwing luminous intensity distribution in a lower hemisphere (100) to evenly illuminate a work plane (104).
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for creating and displaying images. An inner lens of transparent sheet material is formed, which may have a generally pyramidal configuration and presents a plurality of inner sides. A plurality of image sectors are created equal in number to the number of inner sides and are assembled on a medium, which may be translucent, conforming in shape to the inner sides. An outer lens is formed of transparent sheet material and presents outer sides conforming in shape to the shape of the inner sides. The inner lens nests within the outer lens with the image medium held therebetween to provide an envelope assembly. The envelope assembly may be supported on a lamp base whereby a light source backlights and penetrates the image to create a desired visual effect.
