Abstract: The invention relates to an optical device for a wearer intended to form an electrochromic ophthalmic lens, spectacle glasses comprising two such lenses fitted on a frame, and a method for manufacturing such an optical device. The optical device (1) comprises at least one electrochromic cell (3) which comprises a rear shell (4) and a front shell (5) respectively defining for the optical device a backside surface (4b) proximal to at least one eye of the wearer and an opposite front surface (5b), the rear shell and the front shell being provided with at least one pair of transparent electrodes and delimiting a sealed cavity filled with an electrochromic composition (7). According to the invention, one of the front shell and the rear shell comprises a mineral glass substrate, and the other one comprises an organic polymeric substrate, and the electrochromic cell forms a hybrid mineral-organic ophthalmic lens selected from piano lenses and prescription lenses satisfying a prescription for power correction.

The method can include receiving state information from at least one wearable device, prioritizing the received state information, sending signals from a remote management system to a first controller in response to the received prioritized state information, and changing a first transmission state of a non-light-emitting, variable transmission device to a second transmission state for the non-light-emitting, variable transmission device in response to the signals received from the first controller.

Abstract: Eyewear having electrochromic lenses for controlling a light transmissive property/tinting for a user's eye and a camera. The electrochromic lenses have an eye region for controlling light transmission to a user's eye, and a separate camera region for controlling light transmission to a camera. Two or more electrochromic lenses are provided to independently control the tinting for each of the user's eye, and two or more cameras. The electrochromic lenses comprise of multiple lens layers forming a single stack. Each layer has an opening configured to receive a fill material, such as a dye, such that the fill material can have different chemistries. The displays may also have different dye chemistries to allow for different tint ranges (wavelengths of light passed).
