Abstract: A facility for facilitating payments from a client to a freelancer is described. The facility provides a mobile app enabling the freelancer to open an account and solicit payments by clients. In response, each client can use any of a variety of forms of electronic payments to pay into the account. The freelancer can use a debit card issued for the account to spend or withdraw payments made into the account, and can use the app to track requests for payment, payments, client activity, and spending and withdrawals from the account.

Abstract: A method for electronic receipt transfer via ultra-wideband electronic (UWB) radio technology may include: causing, by a payment terminal computer program, an UWB radio to transmit a range request signal from a first antenna; receiving, by the payment terminal computer program and one or more customer electronic devices, a pair of replies to the range request signal, each comprising a first reply signal received at the first antenna and a second reply signal received at a second antenna; determining, by the payment terminal computer program, a distance between the UWB radio and each customer electronic device based on a time of flight; selecting, by the payment terminal computer program, the customer electronic devices having the distance that is closest to the UWB radio; and communicating, by the payment terminal computer program, an electronic receipt for a transaction to the selected customer electronic device.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments may use a contactless card as a secondary form of authentication in a multi-factor authentication for a secure messaging service. The recipient party of a request to initiate a messaging service session (such as a server computing device) may be programmed to use the phone number of the originating device to look up records regarding an identity of a party and their associated phone number as a primary credential and then may require an authentication credential originating from the contactless card as a secondary credential for the initiating party. In some instances, the credential originating from the contactless card is a onetime password that is valid only for a period of time. The recipient party determines whether the onetime password is valid. If both credentials are valid, a secure messaging session may be initiated with the initiating party.
