Abstract: A system for detecting an anomaly in a video of a factory automation scene is disclosed. The system may accept the video; accept a set of training feature vectors derived from spatio-temporal regions of a training video, where a spatio-temporal region is associated with one or multiple training feature vectors; partition the video into multiple sequences of video volumes; produce a sequence of binary difference images for each of the video volumes; count occurrences of each of predetermined patterns of pixels in each binary difference image for each of the video volumes to produce an input feature vector including an input motion feature vector defining a temporal variation of counts of the predetermined patterns for each of the video volumes; produce a set of distances based on the produced input feature vectors and the set of training feature vectors; and detect the anomaly based on the produced set of distances.

Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting motion using video data from a smart camera device. In some embodiments, and by non-limiting example, this disclosure is directed to detecting motion in the compressed video domain. One aspect is a method comprising receiving compressed video data, extracting macroblocks and motion vectors for a plurality of frames in the compressed video data, identifying frame-level features for each of the plurality of frames based on the macroblocks and the motion vectors, calculating similarity features for each of the identified frame-level features based on the frame-level features identified in consecutive frames, and predicting motion for each of the plurality of frames by providing the frame-level features and the similarity features into a model trained to detect motion.

Abstract: Described are methods and systems for selecting a highlight segment. The computer-implemented method comprises receiving a sequence of frames, and at least one user data; via a converting module, for each frame, selecting a local neighborhood around it, said neighborhood comprising at least one frame; and converting each neighborhood into a feature vector; via a highlighting module, assigning a score to each of the feature vectors based on the user data; via a selection module, selecting at least one highlight segment based on the scoring of the feature vectors; and via an outputting module, outputting the highlight segment. The system comprises a receiving module configured to receive a sequence of frames, and at least one user data; a converting module configured to select a local neighborhood around each frame, said neighborhood comprising at least one frame, and convert each neighborhood into a feature vector; a highlighting module configured to assign a score to each of the feature vector based on the user data; a selection module configured to select at least one highlight segment based on the scoring of the feature vectors; and an output component configured to output the highlight segment.
