Abstract:
A method for structuring a data store by analysing source data bases using the steps of relationship discovery, schema merging, hierarchy discovery, heuristic based attribute inclusion and optionally denormalising This is applied to products such as Navision in building an OLAP cube for use in business intelligence applications. Also disclosed is a security adapter to carry security settings from a source data base to an OLAP cube which includes creating a synthetic dimension in the OLAP cube which is a common trait related to all other dimensions in the cube and one role is created for each role in the source data base and users treated as members of those roles as defined in the source data base.
Abstract:
The MP 3 jukebox can be realised as an autonomous apparatus in the wall-mountable, desk or self-supportable version, but it can also be combined with a dart-apparatus, computer based cash register, video or computer games. Its operatin is based on the utilisation of one single standard PC or notebook as a controlling, monitoring and memory unit. A combination of especially developed and astandard software packages, makes starting, usage and servicing of the apparatus, easy to a maximum extent. Complete communication between the apparatus and user is carried out ba means of keys (iiii) (1-4) and a separate OK key (5) on the front board of the apparatus. Data concerning the type of music, the performers and the titles of te songs are sorted according to the hierarchical principle "type of music-performer-title of song". The data shown on the screen have visual appearance similar to two pages of a book, so that moving from one screen to another feels like paging an pen book, in order to enable easier and quicker, both the orientation and the selection among a large amount of data. Al variants of the apparatus can be adjusted for completely autonomous usage by blind or sight-impaired persons, which is accomplished by recording the performer's name and the song title during the preparation of music , and by announcing the name of each selected performer and the song title at moving through the menu.
Abstract:
A server system is installed in a store in the form of an automatic vendor machine. A distributor is equipped with a main server. A playback/connection apparatus is provided in a house. The server system and the main server are connected by a two-way private line to transmit the whole music information (music data and additive information). The main server (2) and the playback/connection apparatus are connected via the Internet, and the additive information out of the music information is transmitted from the main server into the playback/connecting apparatus. A user can search for musical composition to be purchased on the basis of the additive information and determine to purchase it. A piece of music specified by purchase information can be recorded in a record medium by the user.
Abstract:
Multimedia jukebox for playing back music and/or video titles, having a mass storage in which data pertaining to each title is stored, a control unit for selecting given titles and a playback unit by means of which data pertaining to a selected title is fed to an amplifier-loudspeaker unit and/or a monitor. In order to provide a multimedia jukebox enabling the user to rapidly selected the desired title even when a large number of titles are available, an additional storage is included in which a list of artists is stored and in which is a given artist is assigned to each title. Titles and the corresponding artists can be displayed on a display unit, wherein the control unit enables the user to selectively choose either the artists or the titles.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to methods, computer program products and devices for automatically synchronizing an audio track with a plurality of pages, wherein categorization of content the pages and categorization of parts of speech content in the audio track is used for the synchronization.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to systems, methods, and computer readable media for performing multi-format, multi-protocol personalized message threading in a way that is most beneficial for the individual user. Users desire a system that will provide for ease of message threading by "stitching" together related communications in a manner that is seamless from the user's perspective. Such stitching together of communications across multiple formats and protocols— in conjunction with the use of contextual learning techniques and/or personalized index search parameter weighting techniques— may facilitate the providing of personalized query result sets to users of such systems. Personalized results may be based, at least in part, on, e.g. : 1) historic patterns of user communications; 2) index search parameter weight adjustments made by the system at regular or semi- regular time intervals; and/or 3) index search parameter weight adjustments made by the system that are based on contextual knowledge acquired from analyzing user communications.
Abstract:
A system and method for analyzing a patient report to determine whether a follow-up has been recommended. The system and method perform the steps of extracting a portion of text indicating a follow-up recommendation from the report, extracting a name of the follow-up recommendation and determining a corresponding time interval from the portion of text, extracting context information relating to the patient report, and determining, based on the context information and the name of the follow-up recommendation, whether an appointment corresponding to the follow-up recommendation has been scheduled.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a lottery ticket. The lottery ticket includes a matching identifier for matching with identifiers of one or more other lottery tickets to form a winning combination of lottery tickets.
