    摘要: An AR/VR system (100) employs a tracking system (102) for tracking a component (106, 108) using a generated EM field. An EM coil (114, 118, 200, 400, 500, 700) generates the EM field or, alternatively, senses the EM field. The EM coil includes a core substrate (402, 500, 700) and thin metal foil (202, 404, 405, 406) wrapped around the core substrate in three orthogonal axes. The EM coil is effectively "hollow" in that it weighs less than a conventional solid ferrite or ferrous core of comparable dimensions, through one or more of the use of openings formed in the core substrate, the use of a material less dense than ferrite or ferrous materials, the formation of the core substrate as a hollow framework. The resulting EM coil thus weighs less than conventional EM coils, thereby reducing user fatigue and the possibility of misalignment from a drop impact.

As the demands on power output increase, but the demands on size of such high voltage DC generators decrease, the effect of radiated magnetic emissions become more significant. The present invention concerns a design for an inductive device, and a method for the assembly of an inductive device, in which a winding facing surface of the inductive device is a continuous portion, so that no air gap is present facing the winding facing surface. This reduces leakage of magnetic flux from the inductive device.
