A cable assembly is disclosed. The cable assembly includes a housing and a latch connected to the housing, the latch defining a lower pull cross member. The cable assembly also includes a pull disposed proximate the latch. A portion of the pull at least partially travels around the lower pull cross member such that two pull portions extending away from the lower pull cross member are separated by an angle of at least about 30 degrees.

The present invention relates to an EMI collar for use in a connector housed within a housing, comprising an upper housing and a lower housing, where the upper housing is assembled with the lower housing by relatively moving the upper housing in an assembly direction, where the upper housing is relatively moved towards the lower housing during assembly. The EMI collar comprises a band comprising an electrically conductive resilient material and a plurality of spring fingers formed on at least one surface of the band. Each of said spring fingers comprising a proximal end connected to said band and a distal end extending away from the band, where a direction defined by the proximal end towards the distal end is substantially the upper housing assembly direction.

Beschrieben wird ein Kontaktelement zur Schirmkontaktierung eines mit einem Schirmgeflecht versehenen Kabels, bestehend aus erstens einem Federkontaktelement (1), welches einen Ringabschnitt (3) und eine Vielzahl von umlaufend mit dem Ringabschnitt verbundenen Federkontakten (2) aufweist, und zweitens einer Crimphülse (6), die mit dem Ringabschnitt des Federkontaktelements verbindbar ist, wobei die Crimphülse durch das Zusammenfügen mit dem Federkontaktelement einen Hohlraum ausbildet, welche einen zur Kontaktierung vorgesehenen freigelegten Abschnitt des Schirmgeflechts vollständig aufnehmen kann.
Abstract:
An optical transceiver and a pluggable system to enhance the reliability of the communication between the optical transceiver and the host system are disclosed. The rear of the housing of the transceiver provides a periodic structure, a plurality of hollows or a plurality of projections, arranged along the gasket provided in the host connector. Only portions of the periodic structure come in contact with the gasket, and the repulsive force caused by the gasket is consequently weakened to enhance the reliability of the mating of the plug in the optical transceiver with the host connector. The width of the hollows, or the pitch of the projections is set to be shorter than a quarter wavelength of a signal transmitted between the transceiver and the host system to reduce the EMI radiation leaking from the end of the transceiver.

In a specific embodiment, a connector 100 is disclosed. The connector 100 comprises an insulative housing 102 defining a rear opening 108 for receiving a plurality of electrical wires 110 and a front opening 106 and a circuit board 104 disposed in the housing 102 and comprising a mating section 112 for mating with a corresponding mating section of a mating connector. The mating section 112 protrudes outwardly from the front opening 106 and terminates at a front edge 118 disposed between opposing side edges 114,116 of the mating section112. The connector 100 further comprises opposing side arms 128,130 extending forwardly from opposing lateral sides 124,126 of the front opening 106 along, adjacent and beyond corresponding side edges 114,116 of the mating section 112 with a maximum separation between each side edge 114,116 and the corresponding side arm 128,130 being sufficiently small so that when the connector 100 mates with a mating connector, no portion of the mating connector can be inserted between the side edge 114,116 and the corresponding side arm 128,130.
