Abstract:
A method for archiving a binary data bit stream onto at least one frame (29) of film (11) commences by encoding the binary bit stream using a prescribed set of gray levels. Thereafter, a successive one of a set of sub-frames within the at least one frame is aligned with a beam (15). The beam scans each successive sub-frame to expose each of a successive set of data cells within that sub-frame with light at a gray level corresponding each of a set of bits to be written within each successive data cell.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the recording of soundtracks onto analogue cinema film, in particular the recording of digital created and/or digital/electronically stored representations of soundtracks onto film. The method according to the invention for comprises converting sound data from the digital soundtracks to sound image data, modulating light based on the sound image data, and imaging the modulated light onto a photosensitive film. The device according to the invention comprises at least one light source, processing electronics for converting sound data from the digital soundtracks to sound image data, at least one full frame device connected to the processing electronics, adapted for modulating light from the light source according to the sound image data, imaging optics for imaging the modulated light onto a photosensitive film.
Abstract:
The method is based on the fact that, in respect of audio and/or video signal recording, the synchronisation of at least one audio and/or video recording is carried out by means of real time. The real time of recording serves as the synchronising element of at least one image or sound sample during its reproduction or projection. Furthermore, audio and/or video recordings may be locally and functionally independent and may be assigned an identification code.
Abstract:
An image-recording medium and methods and apparatuses for providing the image-recording medium are provided. In accordance with the method, the image-recording medium is segmented and at least one identifying mark that identifies each segment of the image-recording medium is provided in an image recording area of the image-recording medium. A tracking encodement is provided that has tracking data that identifies each segment, with each tracking encodement being provided in an area of the image recording medium that does not record images. Information is stored in a database that associates the tracking data in the tracking encodement with the identifying mark.
Abstract:
A film record comprises a film strip representing a plurality of frames. At least one of the frames includes at least one region wherein the optical density of the region is representative of a symbol from a constellation of symbols.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A compact optical video disc player, the compact optical video disc player includes: (i) multiple optical heads (12(1)-12(N)) adapted to read multiple optical video discs; (ii) multiple servos ( 14( 1 )- 14(N)) coupled to the multiple optical heads; and (iii) a video processing unit (17) adapted to process video signals read from the multiple optical heads and to provide a video stream to a video output unit; wherein a single optical video disc stores only a portion of the video stream.
Abstract:
An overhead entertainment system for a vehicle comprises a plurality of media sources outputting at least one of audio data and video data, and means for modulating the audio data and transferring the modulated audio data to a vehicle sound system, wherein the modulated audio data is capable of being transferred to the vehicle sound system via wired and wireless transmission. The overhead entertainment system also comprises means for wirelessly transmitting the video data to at least one display.
Abstract:
A method for calibration and/or compensation in transference of digital and/or analogue motion pictures to a photosensitive material comprises exposing a section of a photosensitive material by modulating light from a light source and imaging the modulated light onto the photosensitive material, develop the section of the photosensitive material, measure the characteristics of the developed film while illuminated by the said light source, and adjusting the light source and/or light modulation according to the measurement. By using the same light source for exposing and measuring the film, good reproducibility can be achieved, as well as a reliable basis for the adjustments.
