    Abstract: A method performed by a network node for transferring Protocol Data Unit (PDU) sessions of a User Equipment (UE) during a mobility procedure in which the UE is moved from a Fifth Generation System (5GS) to an Evolved Packet System (EPS) is disclosed. The method comprises one or more of determining that a target Mobility Management Entity (MME) for the mobility procedure in the EPS supports a first number of EPS Bearers that is less than a second number of EPS Bearer Identities (EBIs) assigned to a number of PDU sessions (e.g., and their associated Quality of Service (QoS) Flows) of the UE that are to be transferred from the 5GS to the EPS; determining which of the PDU sessions and/or QoS Flows of the UE are not to be transferred to the target MME; and releasing, requesting the release of or initiating release of the PDU sessions and/or QoS Flows that are not to be transferred to the target MME.

    Abstract: A wireless communication network (100) serves User Equipment (UEs) (101) over wireless network slices (111 – 113) that comprise Network Exposure Functions (NEFs) (141 – 143). The egress AF (134 – 136) receives a slice request from an external data system (102) and transfers the slice request to the NEF (141 – 143) in the wireless network slice (111 – 113). An Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) (120) selects the wireless network slice (111 – 113) for the UE (101). The UPF (121 – 123) in the wireless network slice (111 – 113) receives user data from the UE (101) and transfers the user data to the ingress AF (131 – 133) in the wireless network slice (111 – 113). The ingress AF (131 – 133) transfers the user data to the NEF (141 – 143) in the wireless network slice (111 – 113). The NEF (141 – 143) transfers the user data to the egress AF (134 – 136) in response to the slice request. The egress AF (134 – 136) transfers the user data to the external data system (102) in response to the slice request.

    Abstract: Providing a voice call includes: receiving, from a user equipment (UE), a request to initiate a voice call traffic session; requesting setup of a voice call data pipe; based on at least a setup of the voice call data pipe not completing prior to a timer event, transmitting voice packets over a signaling data pipe; and based on at least the voice call data pipe setup completing, ceasing to transmit voice packets over the signaling data pipe and transmitting voice packets over the voice call data pipe. Placing a voice call includes: requesting, by the UE, to initiate the voice call traffic session; based on at least a first trigger event, transmitting voice packets over the signaling data pipe; and based on at least a second trigger event, ceasing to transmit voice packets over the signaling data pipe and transmitting voice packets over the voice call data pipe.
