Abstract: A wearable system is disclosed. The wearable system comprising: a wearable element designed to be worn on a body region of a subject; an array of sensors arranged at specified locations, attached to the wearable element and partially covering the wearable element; and a detection module in communication with each of said sensors in the array and configured to determine an impact event, based on at least one signal generated by at least one of said sensors, such that, the specified locations are determined such that an impact event at any location in the wearable element will generate at least one signal at at least one sensor from the array of sensors.

The device for detecting a defect in material and/or workmanship of an inflatable cuff comprises a target pressure input configured to obtain a target pressure signal, the target pressure signal indicating a target pressure within the cuff; a sensor input configured to obtain a cuff pressure signal from a sensor configured to measure a pressure within the cuff, the cuff pressure signal indicating a pressure within the cuff; an output configured to output a warning signal; and a processing unit configured to analyze the cuff pressure signal and the target pressure signal, to detect the of the cuff based on said analysis, and to control the output to output the warning signal if the defect is detected.

The IV therapy system may include a window formed through the band to provide access to the patient's body. The IV therapy system may include a tourniquet formed within the band to selectively apply a pressure against the patient's body. The IV therapy system may include a blood vessel indicator to indicate where the catheter or other suitable IV device is to be inserted.
