Abstract:
An oral treatment device is provided. The oral treatment device comprises image sensor equipment operable to generate image data representing at least a portion of an oral cavity of a user. The oral treatment device comprises a controller configured to process the generated image data to identify an interproximal gap between adjacent teeth in the oral cavity of the user. The controller is configured to compare at least one characteristic of the identified interproximal gap with at least one characteristic of one or more previously identified interproximal gaps of the oral cavity of the user. The controller is configured to control the oral treatment device to perform an action based on a result of the comparison.
Abstract:
An oral treatment device is provided. The oral treatment device comprises image sensor equipment configured to generate image data indicative of a sequence of images representing at least a portion of an oral cavity of a user. The oral treatment device comprises a controlled configured to process the image data to determine a movement parameter indicative of movement of the oral treatment device relative to an interproximal gap between adjacent teeth in the oral cavity of the user. The controller is configured to control the oral treatment device to perform an action based on the determined movement parameter.
Abstract:
A device, method, and system are provided for treating the oral cavity, including a mouthpiece for implementing a dental treatment, wherein the mouthpiece includes one or more stock elastomeric dental cover layers for forming and maintaining a treatment cavity having a vacuum fluid seal, wherein the dental cover layers includes a layer over all the surfaces of the upper teeth and surrounding gums and/or a layer over all the surfaces of the lower teeth and surrounding gums, wherein each of the layers include one or more hardened rigid or semi-rigid sections for enabling selected and/or differential collapsibility of the cover layers when exposed to vacuum pressure; and one or more treatment supply layers, and one or more flow channels in fluid communication with the treatment cavity so that the treatment supply layer can deliver and/or remove one or more treatment fluids from the one or more fluid sealed treatment cavities.
Abstract:

Abstract:
An oral hygiene device (100) and a container (112) adapted for use with such oral hygiene device (100) are provided. The oral hygiene device (100)comprises a rigid elongated body (102); wherein one end of said body (102) is adapted to provide a cleaning portion (104) comprising a plurality of brush members surrounding one or more outlet openings (110); wherein an opposing end of said body (102) is adapted to provide a connecting portion (106) configured for securely receiving a top part of the container (112) that is adapted for storing a cleaning composition, said body (102) including a plunger (116) attached to the body(102), such that the plunger (116) is unable to move relative to the body (102) and can only move together with the body (102), wherein said body (102) includes an internal conduit (120) for conveying said cleaning composition when released from the container (112).
Abstract:
A dental treatment appliance includes a handle, a nozzle for engaging the teeth of the user and for delivering a burst of working fluid to the teeth of a user, and a datum component also for engaging the teeth of the user. Each of the nozzle and the datum component is moveable relative to the handle. A control circuit detects relative movement between the nozzle and the datum component as the appliance is moved along the teeth of a user, and actuates the delivery of working fluid to the teeth of the user depending on the detected relative movement.
Abstract:
An oral irrigation device including a reservoir, a tip, and a pump. The pump is operative to draw fluid from the reservoir and propel the fluid to the tip. The pump includes a pump body fluidly connected to the reservoir and the tip, the pump body having an interior wall defining a pump chamber, the pump chamber terminating in an open end and a force exerting assembly that is receive within the pump chamber. The force exerting assembly is movable between a first position and a second position and includes a force exerting member and a compressible sealing member received around the force exerting member. The sealing member engages the interior wall of the pump body during movement from the first position to the second position and movement from the second position to the first position to prevent fluids from escaping the open end of the pump body.
Abstract:
A closed system mouthpiece uses light and heat generation to activate a gel formulation to increase its volume. The gel formulation is coated into the mouthpiece, which is inserted into the user's mouth. Application of heat above a threshold temperature causes the gel to transform into foam and expand out of the mouthpiece and into the oral cavity. The mouthpiece creates a hermetic seal such that the foam expands out throughout the oral cavity into nooks and crannies that are normally difficult to access. Activation of a light source embedded within the mouthpiece enhances the bacteria killing properties of the foam material. The pH balance of the mouth is restored by the inventive method and apparatus to a neutral level in the range of 6.75 to 7.25.
Abstract:
The interproximal toothbrush includes an appliance body and neck with a nozzle member having a nozzle tip shaped to fit into interproximal teeth spaces. Bursts of air or air/liquid mixture are generated, exiting through the nozzle tip. A helix member or, alternatively, a spring, is supported within a channel in the nozzle member. The helix member is free to rotate as air or the air/liquid mixture is moved through the channel. A set of bristles is attached to a forward end of the helix member, so that it rotates with the helix member. Alternatively, a set of bristles is attached to the distal end of the spring so that successive bursts of air or the air/liquid mixture produce an in-and-out movement of the set of bristles toward and away from the teeth.
Abstract:
