Abstract:
A lid (116) for a food processor, the food processor including a hollow body (102) providing an interior chamber (103) to receive product and within which the product is processed, the body (102) having a sidewall (112) with an outwardly stepped rim portion (108) surrounding a body top opening (114), the rim portion (108) having a lip (109), the lid (116) including: a main part (118) to cooperate with the lip (109) to close the opening (114); and a skirt (120) to extend into the interior (103) of the body (102) and sealingly interface with an inner surface of the sidewall (112), wherein the skirt (120) is attached to the main part (118) at one end, and wherein the skirt (120) steps radially outwardly towards its other end to engage the stepped rim portion (108).
Abstract:
An adjustable seal that is kinematically linked to a container to provide a complete seal of the container opening and to allow easy access to contents therein. The seal includes a lid portion and a sealing means, as well as a lever and a yoke, which are kinematically linked together via a plurality of pivot points. The seal also comprises a spring system having a springfront, a spring rear, and a spring, and the spring system is likewise mechanically connected to the other components. Due to this kinematic linkage, the closure is moveable among different positions to provide various degrees of access to and from the container via the container opening. As a result, the sealing system of the present invention protects against spillage and splash by completely sealing the container opening, as well as provides easy access to the contents of the container.
Abstract:
A synthetic cork is provided, comprising a shank portion, having a tip portion and a base portion, the base portion including a radial contour, the radial contour providing increased radial surface area relative to a smooth radial bottom portion. A synthetic cork stopper is also provided, wherein the synthetic cork base portion is glued into a hole of a cap. In exemplary embodiments, the radial contour is a spoked configuration.
Abstract:
A lid for a cup that permits cups of a variety of sizes to be securely stacked thereon. The lid has an upper surface, an exterior sidewall, and a mounting portion for sealingly engaging a first cup. The lid has an annular channel in its upper surface dimensioned to receive a bottom rim of a second cup. The annular channel has inner and outer sidewalls, with projecting lobes defining recesses on the inner and outer sidewalls. The bottom rim of a relatively smaller cup may be securely retained by engagement with the projecting lobes on the inner sidewall. The bottom rim of a relatively larger cup may alternatively be securely retained by engagement with the projecting lobes on the outer sidewall.
Abstract:
The present lid (20) comprises a bottom wall (21) incorporating a side wall (22) to be seated and axially retained in the interior of a seat (S) defined by an opening (14) of the can (10). The bottom wall (21) comprises a peripheral annular portion (23)), a median portion (24) and a rib portion (25) with the approximate form of an inverted U and joining the peripheral annular portion (23) and the median portion (24). The median portion (24) comprises an annular panel (24a) and a central panel (24b) joined to each other by an axial step portion (24c), an outer peripheral edge of the annular panel (24a) being incorporated to the annular rib portion (25), said axial step portion (24c) being constituted by a material that is plastically deformed from the adjacent annular panel portion (24a) and from the central panel portion (24b).
Abstract:
A tamper resistant closure (10) for a cup-like container (21) having a rim (24) which surrounds the open end of the container (21), the rim (24) having a rib (26) on its inner side with which a peripheral flange (13) of the container can cooperated to inhibit removal of the closure (10) from the container (21). The closure (10) includes a dispensing spout (14) through which the contents of the container (21) can be consumed, the spout (14) having a series of spaced slots ((18). In another form, the closure is in the form of a stopper (32) or (45) having a similar dispensing spout (34) or (47), the stopper (32) or (45) being adapted to be located within the neck of a bottle-like container.
Abstract:
A closure (11) for a container (10) is disclosed. The container comprises a base (13) and peripheral wall (15) with a rim (16) forming an upper margin of the wall and surrounding an opening of the container. An external protrusion (32) is formed integrally with and surrounds the rim. A portion (14) of the closure is adapted to overlie the opening of the container. A skirt (20) is formed integrally with the closure portion and is arranged to surround the rim when the closure is mounted to the container. The skirt comprises a first portion (21) positionable adjacent to and to surround an external upper end of the rim, and a second portion (22) that is connected to the first portion at a connection (23). The second portion extends downwardly from the first portion to surround the rim below its upper end. The second portion comprises an integrally formed first ledge (40) located therewithin, with the first ledge being positionable to locate in interlocking engagement with the external protrusion. At least one region of deformability (24, 25) is defined in the second portion at a location away from the connection such that, with the closure mounted on the container, the at least one region can deform to facilitate pivoting of the second portion with respect to the first portion to disengage the first ledge from the external bead.
