摘要： A composite lid of a cylindrical container includes an outer metal lid having an integral top wall and sidewall and an inner plastic lid having a top wall and sidewall fitted inside the outer metal lid such that a free end of the sidewall of the inner plastic lid extends beyond a free end of the sidewall of the outer metal lid. The composite lid can be fitted on a base having an integral bottom wall and sidewall such that the sidewall of the inner plastic lid frictionally engages the sidewall of the base. The outer metal lid can be formed by stamping sheet metal, the inner plastic lid can be formed by molding a polymer material and the base can be formed by molding a polymer material. The outer metal lid can be adhesively bonded or mechanically fitted to the inner plastic lid.

摘要： A drink-through lid for a beverage container. The lid provides a drink outlet that allows liquid to fill a drink well base, from which a consumer may sip a beverage similar to using an open top cup or mug. The lid is provided with a flexible structure which may be reversibly positionable between a drink outlet closed position and a drink outlet open position. In an embodiment, an outer or distal end of the flexible structure may be moved to a spill resistant position, wherein the outer end of the flexible structure substantially prevents splash of liquid outward from the beverage container thought the drink outlet, even when the flexible structure is in the open position. The flexible structure may include multiple panels and hinges which allow downward and upward movement by manual manipulation, to enable a user to open and close the drink outlet.

The annular inner sidewall has printed text provided on the sloped surface of the annular inner sidewall opposite the drink opening.

The container lid construction provides a rim- engaging construction, which when outfitted upon an upper container rim of the seamed liquid container forms a liquid leakage channel at the site of a stepped seam section of the seamed liquid container. The rim-engaging construction defines at least one air pocket construction in adjacency to the liquid leakage channel for enhancing pressure equalization within and without the seamed liquid container when the container lid construction is outfitted thereupon. The rim-engaging construction further includes at least two step-engaging sections that flank each air pocket construction for forming spaced liquid plugs within the liquid leakage channel. Together, the step-engaging sections, air pocket construction(s), and liquid plugs minimize liquid leakage.

摘要： A 2-piece disposable lid assembly for a drinking cup enables unhindered drinking while inhibiting splashing and spilling. The assembly includes a dispensing well formed in a drinking spout, and a flat insert supported by a plurality of baffles within the spout so as to form a horizontal channel through which beverage flows in a circuitous path around the baffles and into the dispensing well. A plurality of vent holes can allow air to enter the cup as beverage is consumed. Vent holes located near the dispensing well can be blocked during drinking when the cup is full and the beverage is hot, but unblocked as the beverage cools and is consumed. Embodiments of the lid can also be used separately as a low-cost, 1-piece lid that reduces splashing. The flat insert is relatively inexpensive to manufacture, and installation of the insert in the lid can be automated.
