Abstract: A roof or wall hole closing device (1) comprises an expanding part (3) which, in its contracted condition, is passed through the hole from one side. The expanded part (3), when expanded, closes the hole from one side. A rod (5) passes into the expanding part (3). The expanding part (3) is expanded by the user pulling the rod (5) through the hole. A lower seal (5) engages against a second side of the hole to prevent movement of the expanding part (3) from its closing position.The device when used in a roof can be installed from below, which avoids the dangers of the user needing to go up onto the roof.

Abstract: A frame, one or more wheels rotationally attached to the frame, two or more end feet attached to opposite ends of the frame, one or more end safety tether attachments, and a flip-pole attachment. The frame straddles the roof peak so the end feet are stably positioned on opposite roof surfaces. The wheels enable the device, when flipped to its inverted position, to be rolled up and down the roof for installation and removal. The flip-pole attachment enables attachment of a flip pole for use in installing and removing the device from a ladder. And the end tether attachments enable workers to couple their safety tethers to the secured device so that if they fall their fall will be arrested for safety. In typical embodiments, an outrigger assembly is included with peak-mounting side feet for nesting on the roof peak and with side tether attachments for side attachment.

Abstract: A material removing device for removing materials from a surface includes a body having a handle assembly with a recoil mechanism and a driver slidably mounted to the body. A blade with a slotted edge is removably connected to the driver. An actuator mounted to the body provides a high impact to the driver to slide the blade in the longitudinal direction under the materials to be removed and then pivot the blade upward to pry the materials from the surface.
