Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for breaking cement within an annulus of a wellbore. In one implementation, an annulus cement breaking system includes a cement compression tool operable to be disposed within an inner bore of a casing having a longitudinal length. The casing is disposed within a wellbore formed in a subterranean formation having a cement layer disposed within an annulus formed between the casing and the subterranean formation. One or more actuation elements are coupled with the cement compression tool, and the one or more actuation elements are operable to engage the inner bore. The one or more actuation elements are transitionable between an unactuated state and an actuated stated. The actuated state operable to engage the inner bore of the casing, thereby radially expanding the casing and compressing the cement layer.

Abstract: A tool (1) for cementing an annulus in a subsea oil or gas well, and methods for using the tool are provided. The tool includes a safety module (2) providing fluid communication between an umbilical and a perforation and circulation module (4) mounted below it. The safety module (2) includes a mechanical lock for connection to a well head. The perforation and circulation module includes upper and lower seals (6, 8) for sealing to the inner surface of a casing; an upper perforating device (14) mounted between the seals; a lower perforating device (16) mounted below the lower seal (8); and supply (S) and return (R) fluid flow paths for circulating fluid from the safety module (2). A diversion means (20) is provided in the supply fluid flow path, operable to redirect fluid supplied to the supply fluid flow path to a space defined between the upper and lower seals (6, 8).

Abstract: A tool for use within a subterranean well extending from a wellhead to a subterranean location, wherein the wellhead resides at a first temperature and the subterranean well increases in temperature in a direction from the wellhead to the subterranean location, increasing from the first temperature to a higher second temperature, includes a component including a meltable material. The meltable material is configured to have a solid first state while the meltable material is at the first temperature. The meltable material in the first state has one or more mechanical properties sufficient to avoid mechanical failure of the component and is configured to have a second state when the meltable material is at the second temperature. The meltable material in the second state is lacking the one or more mechanical properties necessary to avoid mechanical failure.

Abstract: A novel method for the placement of spearhead acid and stimulation of a hydrocarbon-bearing formation, said method comprising the steps of providing a wellbore in need of multiple stages of stimulation; inserting an isolation plug in the wellbore at a predetermined location; inserting a perforating tool and a spearhead or breakdown acid into the wellbore simultaneously exposing the wireline and tool to the acid; positioning the tool at said predetermined location; perforating the wellbore with the tool thereby creating a perforated area; allowing the spearhead acid to come into contact with the perforated area for a predetermined period of time sufficient to prepare the formation for stimulation; removing the tool form the wellbore; and initiating the stimulation of the perforated area using a stimulation fluid. Also disclosed is a corrosion inhibiting composition for us with the acid composition.
