The claimed method and system provide a process control device monitoring system and a process control valve assembly with a process control device monitoring system to measure one or more operating states of a process control device. The process control device monitoring system may also associate a time- stamp with the one or more measured operating states of the process control device in response to a trigger generated based on the one or more measured operating states. The process control device monitoring system may also transmit the time- stamp and an indication of the one or more operating states to a monitoring device.
Abstract:
A system for monitoring operation and diagnosing malfunctions in a variable valve actuation device is disclosed. The system has a rocker arm assembly that includes a first arm, a second arm with the first and second arms attached at a first end, a hydraulically operated latch assembly that functions to secure the first arm to the second arm when latched. The latch may be operated by a remote device. The rocker assembly pivots on a hydraulic lash adjuster (HLA). A control gallery connects the hydraulic valve to the latch. A pressure transducer is positioned either in the control gallery or the HLA and creates a signal indicating the sensed pressure. A reads the signal from the pressure transducer and identifies malfunctions of the rocker arm assembly. The system may also employ a non-contact transducer that monitors the state of the rocker arm assembly. The system may also employ a valve stem position sensor that monitors the engine valve position to determine malfunctions of the rocker arm assembly.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zum automatischen Abschalten und Starten einer Brennkraftmaschine in einem Kraftfahrzeug mit Automatikgetriebe oder automatisiertem Getriebe mittels einer Start-Stopp-Einrichtung, welche während einer Schubbetriebsphase der Brennkraftmaschine einen automatischen Abschaltvorgangs der Brennkraftmaschine einleitet und welche einen automatischen Startvorgang der Brennkraftmaschine einleitet, wenn zumindest eine Einschaltaufforderung vorliegt. Die Erfindung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass zum Abschalten der Brennkraftmaschine in einer Schubbetriebsphase der Brennkraftmaschine ein Ladungswechsel in den Zylindern der Brennkraftmaschine zumindest nahezu unterbunden wird und gleichzeitig eine zwischen der Brennkraftmaschine und dem Getriebe zur Kraftübertragung angeordnete Wandlerüberbrückungskupplung derart angesteuert wird, dass diese Wandlerüberbrückungskupplung zumindest nahezu geschlossen bleibt oder geschlossen wird.

A homogeneous charge compression ignition engine (10, 110) is set up by first identifying combinations of compression ratio and exhaust gas percentages for each speed and load across the engines operating range. These identified ratios and exhaust gas percentages can then be converted into geometric compression ratio controller settings and exhaust gas recirculation rate controller settings that are mapped against speed and load, and made available to the electronic engine controller (29). This provides the engine controller (29) with a look up table of what compression ratio and exhaust gas rates should be at each speed and load. The engine controller (29) also balances at least one of combustion phasing and energy release among a plurality of cylinders (14) in order to enable higher load operation.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und ein elektronisches Motorsteuergerät eines Verbrennungsmotors, die dazu vorgesehen und eingerichtet sind, Abweichungen im Ventiltrieb des Verbrennungsmotors zu erkennen und den Verbrennungsmotor entsprechend zu steuern. Dazu werden eine Einlassventilhub-Phasendifferenz und/oder eine Auslassventilhub-Phasendifferenz, mittels Analyse von dynamischen Druckschwingungen der Ansaugluft im Luft-Ansaugtrakt des betreffenden Verbrennungsmotors, im Betrieb ermittelt und daraus ein Ventilhub-Phasen-Abweichungswert in Bezug auf einen Ventilhub-Phasen-Referenzwert bestimmt und auf Basis dessen ein erster Abweichungswert des Ventiltriebs ermittelt.

In one aspect of the invention, an engine is operated in a skip cylinder engine braking mode. In the skip cylinder engine braking mode, selected working cycles of selected working chambers are deactivated. Other selected working cycles of the selected working chambers are operated in a braking mode. Accordingly, individual working chambers are sometimes deactivated and sometimes operated in the braking mode while the engine is operating in the skip cylinder engine braking mode. Various methods for cylinder control are described, which improve fuel economy, catalytic converter performance, and vehicle NVH characteristics.
