    摘要: A data rate detecting device detects a data rate for a received signal based on a variation of the energy for the respective received signals between the two adjacent intervals upon failure to receive information about the data rate, and performs channel decoding of the detected data rate information. First, the data rate detecting device divides an interval defined as between a lowest and highest one of a plurality of given data rates into m discriminating intervals. Then, the device calculates a difference between an average energy of received signals up to an i'th discriminating interval and an average energy of received signals for an (i+1)'th discriminating interval, wherein i is an integer is less than m. If the difference between the average energies is greater than or equal to a threshold value, the device determines that the received signal in the (i+1)'th discriminating interval is transmitted at a data rate corresponding to the i'th discriminating interval.

    摘要: A convolutional encoding device and method in a digital system. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a convolutional encoding device has a convolutional encoder and a puncturer. The convolutional encoder generates a subgroup of a first, a second and a third encoded symbols for each input bit using generator polynomials including g0(x) = 1 + x + x + x + x + `x + x , g1(x) = 1 + x + x + x + x + x , and g2(x) = 1 + x + x + x + x , for inputting input bits to generate a symbol group of three subgroups for three successive input bits, and for generating a stream of the symbol groups. A symbol puncturer punctures the first symbol of one of three subgroups in each symbol group generated from the convolutional encoder.

In the iterative decoder, a first adder has a first port for receiving information symbols and a second port; a first component decoder is coupled to the first adder, for receiving first parity symbols and decoding the information symbols using the first parity symbols and an output signal of the first adder; a first subtractor has a third port for receiving the output of the first component decoder, and a fourth port; an interleaver coupled to the output of the second adder, for interleaving the decoded information symbols received from the first component decoder; a second component decoder receives the output of the interleaver and second parity symbols and decodes the information symbols of the interleaver output using the received signals; a deinterleaver deinterleaves the output of the second component decoder; a third adder has a fifth port for receiving the output of the deinterleaver and a sixth port for receiving an inversed output of the second adder, the output of the third adder connected to the second port and an inverted output of the third adder connected to the fourth port; a hard decision device converts the decoded symbols received from the first component decoder to binary information bits; an error detector checks error in the binary information bits received from the hard decision device and generates a no error signal if no errors are detected; and an output buffer stores the binary information bits received from the hard decision device and outputs the stored binary information bits in response to the no error signal.

    摘要: An iterative decoder with a gain controller in a mobile communication system. In the iterative decoder, a first component decoder receives a first extrinsic information signal, a first parity signal, and a systematic code signal, decodes the systematic code signal out of the received signals, and generates a primary decoded signal including a second extrinsic information component. Here, the first and second extrinsic information signals remove noise in the input signals to the first and second component decoders. A second component decoder receives the primary decoded signal from the first component decoder and a second parity signal, decodes the decoded signal out of the received signals, and generates a secondary decoded signal and the first extrinsic information signal. One or more gain controllers are connected between the first and second component decoders, for attenuating either or both the first and second extrinsic information signals.
