Described herein is a vehicle (1) for disabled persons comprising: a bottom panel (2) defining a station for a wheelchair (8), one or more front wheels (4), which support said bottom panel (2); at least one pair of rear wheels (5), connected via constraint means (12) to the bottom panel (2); and actuator means (15) for raising and lowering the bottom panel (2) with respect to the rear wheels (5). The constraint means (12) comprise, for each rear wheel (5) a first lever (13) and a second lever (14), which are angularly coupled to one another and have first portions (39,32) hinged to the bottom panel (2) about a common axis (Q) and second portions (38,33) connected, respectively, to the actuator means (15) and to the rear wheel (5). Said actuator means (15) are selectively available in at least two operating configurations for varying the distance between an axis (R) and a given point (P) of the first lever (13) distinct from said axis (Q).

A motor vehicle for carrying a load over a street has in a preferred embodiment a bottom platform for supporting the load, a frame, disposed above the bottom platform and mounted to it, for providing structural integrity to the vehicle, a plurality of wheels rotatably mounted to the frame, and a door arrangement disposed on a side of the vehicle. In further embodiments, the wheels are retractable, so as to permit the bottom platform to approach the street level to facilitate loading and unloading of the vehicle. Additionally, the door arrangement includes a large doorway and a plurality of doors, each door slidably mounted, and all doors are movable to an open position located near an end of the vehicle to expose the large doorway to facilitate loading and unloading of the vehicle. A ramp is hingedly attached to bottom platform, so that the ramp may be folded into an up position and unfolded into a down position, and in the down position it may provide a smooth transition from the bottom platform to street level.

The invention relates to a system for adjusting the height of self-loading stretcher supports in health compartments of rescue vehicles. In particular, means for changing and adjusting the support-deck distance are arranged between said support and the deck of the health compartment. These means allow recovering possible unbalancing from the ideal value of the loading and unloading height of the self-loading stretcher onto or from the relative support. The adjustment occurs as a function of the height of the vehicle and/or support with respect to the support surface of the self-loading stretcher in a loading/unloading position, i.e. outside the vehicle.

The present invention concern a method to convert the rear assembly of a light vehicle (1 ), the existing chassis construction is modified through the use of a subframe (20) intended to be joined to a chassis construction, the subframe includes two longitudinal frame beams (22) and a transverse frame beam (24), the method including the steps of: - removing the existing rear suspension, - attaching a subframe (10), - mounting separate rear suspensions (14) one on each side of the vehicle, each suspension having a support arm (27) and spring components (30,31), - assigning the rear assembly a box-like construction (15) intended to form a lowered portion of floor (10). An extensive inner space is achieved by the steps: - assigning to the transverse frame beam (24) at each end a beam construction (60) terminating at a backwardly facing end section (62) in which a first active part of a joint (29) is arranged, - assigning the forward end (28) of the support arm (27) a second active part of the said joint (29), - arranging the support arm (27) such that it can pivot at the end part (62), - arranging the spring components (30, 31 ) between the rear end (34) of the support arm (27) and the longitudinal frame beam (22), and - arranging the said support arms (27), the longitudinal frame beams (22) and the spring components (30, 31) at the side of the longitudinal side walls (17) of the box-like lowered portion of floor.
