The invention concerns a handpiece for surgical or medical use characterised in that it is used for remotely controlling the operation of the appliance(s) which power said handpiece or related to the intervention, by pneumatic variation brought about by a digital touch from the operator of a fluid transported by a conduit connecting the handpiece to a pressure or vacuum generator (34), said variation constituting a signal used for performing after detection, processing or execution of the operating command(s) of one or several appliances related to the intervention. The control method consists in forming one or several breaks of pressure or vacuum by a digital touch from the operator on the handpiece body, detecting said breaks and using the detection signals to control remotely an appliance related to the intervention performed with said handpiece. The invention is useful for all manufacturers of handpieces.

Apparatus for removal of accumulations of fluid or air below skin level at a human or an animal, the said apparatus includes a hypodermic needle (5) for penetration of the skin and a suction and collection device (8) for suction of the fluid through the hypodermic needle (5). The hypodermic needle (5) is connected to the mouth of a pistol-like handle (1 ) and in the pistol-like handle (1 ) is connected to a first end of a conduit (7; 23, 24), the other end of which is connected to the suction and collection device (8). The handle (1) has a closing mechanism (14,15; 20, 27), which co-operates with the conduit (7; 23, 24) and is activated with a view to opening for passage of the fluid, when a trigger (3) belonging to the pistol-like handle (1 ) is activated towards the effect of a driving means, which biases the trigger (3) into a closed initial position.
