The present invention relates to a device for forming a solution or a suspension of products (P) such as medicines and/or foodstuffs, comprising a bottom (2), a body (3) that defines a volume V and is open at at least an upper end (3 2 ), and a stopper (4) for closing the upper end (3 2 ) of the body (3). The bottom (2) can be removed from the body (3) and forms a crucible (5) for crushing the product (P) used to form a solution or a suspension, and the stopper (4) comprises a male member (11) having a form complementary to the crucible (5) provided in the removable bottom (2). The bottom (2) and the stopper (4) have complementary connecting and clamping means (7, 8) for connecting and clamping the stopper to the bottom in order to reduce to powder form such a product (P) previously arranged in the crucible (5), and for fastening and clamping the bottom to a lower end (3 1 ) of the body (3) of the device once said product has been crushed, and fastening and then clamping the stopper (4) to an upper end (3 2 ) of the body in order to form the solution of suspension and mix the crushed product (P) with a liquid or a mixture of aqueous or non-aqueous liquids.

When vacuum is applied to the pipette and a solution is drawn into the pipette, the slit increases the velocity of the solution while gently deforming and separating clumps of matter (e.g., colonies of bacteria) contained in the solution. As the deformed bacterial colony passes through the slit, the bacteria solution is mixed due to turbulent flow within the pipette created by the increase in velocity. Bacteria colony size is further reduced by alternating the pipette flow direction to cycle the bacteria through the slit two or more times. A sloped entrance to the slit also prevents the oily bacteria from clogging the slit during cycle reversals.
