To provide a method and a system for recovering CO 2 from gasification gas, the method and the system being capable of preventing the recovered CO 2 from being contaminated with COS, without repeating cooling and heating operations and without increasing the steam consumption, even when the CO 2 recovery ratio is changed in recovering CO 2 from gasification gas. Gasification gas being produced in a gasifier (10) and containing CO, CO 2 , COS and H 2 S is subjected to dust removal in a scrubber (20). Then, a part of the gas is subjected to a CO shift reaction, in which CO is converted into CO 2 , in a CO shift reactor (30). Another part of the gasification gas is not subjected to the CO shift reaction by means of a bypass (34), and is mixed with the gas after the CO shift reaction. Thereby, the temperature of the mixture gas is set at 180°C to 300°C, and COS in the mixture gas is converted into H 2 S in a COS converter (40). The H 2 S is absorbed and removed by a H 2 S absorption apparatus (50). Then, CO 2 is absorbed and removed by a CO 2 absorb apparatus.

The syngas exiting a hydrogen sulfide absorber is first compressed, subjected to a dehydration step and a low temperature liquefaction and separation to remove carbon dioxide. The liquid phase is separated from the compressed and cooled gas stream, to provide a liquid phase stream and a gas phase stream, wherein the output pressure of the liquid phase stream is higher than the initial pressure of the gas stream.

The gasification-combined power plant of the present invention has a structure wherein a fuel gas is generated by partially oxidizing a carbon-containing fuel 2 with an oxygen-containing gas 3 in the gasification apparatus 1, the sensible heat of the fuel gas is recovered by the heat exchanger 4, char and dust are removed from the fuel gas by the dust collector 5, trace gas components, such as H₂S and NH₃, are simultaneously removed from the waste gas by the gas separation apparatus 6 based on dry physical adsorption of these components (for example, by a pressure swing adsorption method), the thus separated and removed gas containing high concentrations of trace gas components, such as H₂S and NH₃, is denitrated and desulfurized by the gas disposal apparatus 7 and then is discharged from the chimney 13 into the atmosphere. With the simultaneous removal of the trace gas components at a high temperature from the fuel gas produced by the gasification apparatus, this plant simultaneously achieves both a high heat efficiency for the gasification-combined power plant as a whole and the reduction of sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides in the combustion waste gas from the gas turbine.
