For this purpose, the top of the float chamber is connected to external atmosphere, both downstream of the air register throttle and in correspondence of the rim of said throttle, the position of said air register throttle being determined by an electric motor controlled by sensors detecting the combustion state in the engine.

Le dispositif selon l'invention corrige la carburation des moteurs au cours de leur fonctionnement en phases transitoires, accelerations, decelerations et changements des rapports de transmission par reduction ou suppression du debit d'essence des gicleurs du carburateur ou/et par admission, en aval du carburateur, d'air additionnel ou de gaz d'echappement, de gaz de carter ou d'un melange de ces gaz. Par son mode d'action, le dispositif agit durant 75% environ du temps de roulage d'un vehicule en circulation urbaine (cas du cylce ECE 15). Les differentes versions du dispositif sont toutes caracterisees par le systeme de commande (1-6) pilote par la pression d'admission du moteur de maniere que le sens, l'intensite et la duree d'action des efforts qu'il transmet a l'organe de correction (7) soient en permanence fonction de la valeur de la derivee de cette pression d'admission par rapport au temps (EFFORT = f (dpa k)/dt. Method, system and apparatus for metering fuel to an internal combustion engine via a carburetor (20) having a mixture conduit with a venturi (42) therein. A main fuel nozzle (70) supplies fuel to the venturi of the carburetor in response to the static pressure drop induced across an associated main fuel flow controlling restriction (36) by the engine intake induced air flow through the carburetor mixture conduit. A pitot tube (80) is disposed in the venturi with an opening (82) facing upstream in a zone of maximum air flow through the carburetor venturi. A vent passageway (82-100) system connects the pitot tube to a single closed air chamber (62) cooperable with either a diaphragm (60) or a float to regulate operation of an inlet valve (58) controlling flow of fuel to a main fuel controlling restriction. The adverse effect of engine intake induced tuning pressure wave forms in the mixture conduit of the carburetor transitting the venturi is eliminated, reduced or modulated by the dynamic pressure exerted by said tuning waves at the pitot tube and transmitted by the vent passageway to said chamber and to said main fuel restriction.
