The invention relates to a contact device for connecting multi-wire lines in a moist or wet environment. The device comprises first and second housing portions (14,38), each portion including a plurality of contacts (20,42). It is the underlying objective to provide electrical connection between these contacts (20,42) without moisture or conducting fluid bridging over these contacts. This object is obtained by the provision of a pad (48) at the second housing portion (38) which pad (48) encloses the contacts (42) of said second housing portion (38) and comprises an elastic, electrically insulating and water-imprevious material, and the contacts (42) extend into said pad (48) to such an extent that they pierce it when pressure is applied.

A first mounting bracket (36) is welded to the mast arm at an intermediate location to provide temporary support of the mast arm to the mounting pole. A second mounting bracket (40) is welded to the mast arm adjacent one end to enable the mast arm to be permanently secured to the pole. The mast arm includes a pair of diametrically opposed outwardly extending longitudinal ribs (32,34). The ribs provide a weldment surface for welding the first and second mounting brackets to the mast arm.

A palletized bundle of stacked elongate cable trays (10) includes a pair of endcaps (31,32) placed over each longitudinal end of the stack of cable trays. The endcaps are each cinched by a shipping strap (77) to pallet spacer skids (60) provided under each endcap. Each pallet spacer skid accommodates the lifting tines of a forklift. The pallet spacer skids also provide sufficient ground clearance to allow the palletized cable trays to be transversily engaged by the lifting tines of a forklift. The palletizing package may also include protective liners (33) placed between the shipping strap and the stack of cable trays to further protect the cable trays from damage by the cinched shipping strap.

The housing includes an opening for receiving the flexible flat cable and a recess formed substantially in the center of the opening in the longitudinal direction of the housing. Contact portions of contact portions of contacts extend to the recess, and are mounted along the long side of the housing at a predetermined pitch. An orientationless squib connector assembly for automotive air bag assemblies is disclosed. A single initiator pin is provided axially aligned within a squib socket. An annular ground plate surrounds the initiator pin near the base of the socket. An associated connector includes a first, axially located terminal for electrical contact with the initiator pin and a second terminal comprising a depending beam radially aligned with the first terminal for electrically contacting the ground plate at any rotational orientation of the connector with respect to the socket. Eliminating a required rotational orientation of the connector simplifies its manufacture and assembly and its incorporation into a vehicle. Preferably, the entering wires are also axially aligned with the first and second terminals.
