An evaporator fan (34) is located in the evaporator housing to urge the supply airflow into the evaporator housing via the supply air inlet opening (52), across the evaporator coil (32) and out of the evaporator housing through the supply air outlet opening (56). The evaporator fan (34) can be located upstream or downstream of the evaporator coil (32).

When the filter (52) is not installed, the first and second protrusions (48, 50) function as air flow resistance increase means for increasing air flow resistance when air having been taken in into the second casing (40) flows. Consequently, the rate of air flow when the air filter (52) is not installed is reduced by a turbulent flow generated by the first and second protrusions (48, 50) and can thereby be set substantially equal to the rate of air flow when the filter (52) is installed.

Sie umfasst ferner einen Dichtungszusammenbau (5; 6, 7), mittels welchem die seitliche Begrenzung (3) des Wärmetauschers (2) luftdicht und schwingungsisoliert in einem luftführenden Kanal (8) des Gehäuses der Klimaanlage einbaubar ist.
