The invention further relates to a process for preparing the thermoplastic molding materials and to the moldings obtainable therefrom. According to the invention, the ratio between the distance of the reflector (5) from the filament (2) of the bulb (1) and the thermal flux density should be greater than 17 mm cm 2 /W. Still further, the wall of said reflector (5) in the area above the bulb (1) and between each available connecting means (71, 72), by which said reflector (5) is connected to each position adjusting means, is essentially reduced with respect to the wall in any other area of said reflector (5). Still further, the shell of said reflector (5) consists of amorphous thermoplastics having a glass-transition temperature Tg > 210°C.

The reflector, which has high reflectance, is formed by extending a crystalline plastic material exhibiting a superior extensibility to extend the amorphous particles in the amorphous region in the predetermined direction so as to form a plurality of extension layers in the amorphous region. Since a reflector having a superior performance with a very improved reflectance can be provided due to a high diffuse reflectance by the extension layers in the amorphous region without a foaming process or an additional additive to increase the reflectance, the manufacturing process of the reflector is simplified and the manufacturing cost is reduced so that productivity can be greatly improved.

The present invention provides a lighting system with a color indicator surface (24, 30). The surface receives light via a cover (18) of the lighting system, mainly through internal reflection. Hence, the light from the light sources, here at least two different colored LEDs (14), is guided away from the main light emitting surface (20), such that well-mixed light with a lower intensity may be used to determine the color of the light. The color indicator surface may be a surface (24) of the cover (18), or may be a surface (30) of a separate outer part (26). The lighting system may be used to illuminate objects in houses, shops and so on. The color indicator surface provides a convenient and easily accessible color reference.
