Die Erfindung betrifft einen kleinstückigen Brennstoff aus Braunkohle mit einer durchschnittlichen Korngröße von 2 - 20 mm. Der Brennstoff zeichnet sich insbesondere dadurch aus, dass er ausschließlich aus gewachsener Braunkohle besteht, wobei das Kornband ohne nachträgliche Agglomeration erhalten wurde. Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin ein Verfahren zur Herstellung des Brennstoffs, bei welchem die grubenfeuchte Braunkohle (Rohbraunkohle) zerkleinert und getrocknet wird und wobei durch Klassierung einer Kornfraktion von 2 bis 20 mm getrennt wird. Der so erhaltene Brennstoff ist eine kostengünstige Alternative zu den durch Agglomeration hergestellten kleinstückigen Brennstoffen für den Hausbrandbereich und den Industriebereich. Insbesondere wird mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Brennstoff ein optimales Verbrennungsergebnis erzielt.

Es wird eine Zerkleinerungsvorrichtung (20) zum Verarbeiten von im Wesentlichen halmförmiger Biomasse, insbesondere Strohballen, beschrieben. Die Zerkleinerungsvorrichtung umfasst mehrere Schneckenwellen (22a, 22b, 22c, 22d) mit jeweils einer Schneckenwendel, entlang deren Umfang eine Vielzahl von Schneidmessern in Umfangsrichtung abstehen. Ferner umfasst die Zerkleinerungsvorrichtung (20) ein Lochsieb mit einer Vielzahl von Löchern. Dabei sind die Schneckenwellen (22a, 22b, 22c, 22d) derart in einem Rahmen (24) angeordnet, dass die Schneckenwellen (22a, 22b, 22c, 22d) im Betrieb Stroh aus einem der Zerkleinerungsvorrichtung (20) zugeführten Strohballen herausziehen, in einen Verarbeitungsraum befördern, der durch die Schneckenwellen (22a, 22b, 22c, 22d), den Rahmen (24) und das Lochsieb definiert wird, und das Stroh in dem Verarbeitungsraum so lange zerkleinern, bis dieses durch die Löcher des Lochsiebs abgeführt werden kann.

The EMR drying used in the method includes reducing the inherent moisture content in the upgraded fossil fuel at least in half.

A fuel additive for preventing slagging which comprises a composition comprising water and/or an oil and, dispersed stably therein, one or more of an aluminum compound, a silica compound, a titanium compound and a zirconium compound in the form of ultra-fine particles having a particle diameter of 3 to 200 nm, and an alkali metal (R = Na or K) compound in an amount of 2 wt % or less in terms of R2O. The above fuel additive is used for preventing slagging caused by ash contents present in an oil during the burning of various fuels, in particular, a fuel having a high ash content such as coal or oil coke. The ash deposited on the surface of a furnace wall or a water tube can be released and fallen with ease from the surface by addition of the above fuel additive to a liquid fuel or a solid fuel prior to the burning thereof.

The present invention is a method for feeding a mixture comprising a burnable solid and water to a combustion furnace or gasification reactor, comprising heating the mixture with a heater to convert at least a part of the water in the mixture into a form of steam and feeding the whole mixture to a combustion furnace or gasification reactor, wherein the whole mixture is transferred between an inlet of the heater and the combustion furnace or gasification reactor by a pump, characterized in that a discharge pressure at the pump is higher than an inner pressure in the combustion furnace or gasification reactor at least by 1.5 MPa and not higher than 22-12 MPa, and that a flow rate of said mixture with at least a part of the water being in a form of steam is from 6 to 50 m/s in a pipe in the heater and in a pipe between an outlet of the heater and an inlet of the combustion furnace or gasification reactor. The present invention provides a method for feeding a mixture of a burnable solid and water to a combustion furnace or gasification reactor, comprising heating the mixture with a heater to convert at least a part of the water in the mixture into a form of steam and feeding the whole mixture to a combustion furnace or gasification reactor, wherein almost no abrasion is caused in the pipes where the mixture flows and a stable feed of the mixture to a combustion furnace of a gasification reactor is attained without sedimentation of the burnable solid.
