摘要: A fuel injection system includes a fuel injector (6) having a body, a needle valve (5) movably provided in the body and a fuel accumulator having two chambers (3, 4) for storing a fuel at high and low pressures. An injection chamber (19) is formed in the injector lower body and a control chamber (22) is formed in the injector upper body. An injection passage (17) connects the high pressure chamber (3) with the injection chamber (18) and a control passage (21) connects the low pressure chamber (4) with the control chamber (22). The needle valve (5) is lifted upon leaking of the fuel to the accumulator from the control chamber (22) and the fuel is injected from the injection chamber (19) upon lifting of the needle valve (5). The fuel is recycled to the fuel tank from the control chamber (22).

摘要: An injection rate shaping nozzle assembly (52) for a fuel injector is provided which includes a closed nozzle valve element (66) and a rate shaping control device (82) including an injection spill circuit for spilling a portion of the fuel to be injected to produce a predetermined time varying change in the flow rate of fuel injected into a combustion chamber. The spill circuit includes a spill passage (88) integrally formed in the nozzle valve element (66). The rate shaping control means (82) may include a spill valve (86) for controlling the spill flow through the spill circuit to create a low injection flow rate followed by a high injection flow rate. The spill passage (88) may communicate with the injector nozzle cavity (58) between injection events or alternatively may be blocked to prevent spill flow between injection events. The rate shaping control device (82) may include a spill accelerating device in the form of a spill chamber formed in the nozzle valve element (66) for creating a rapid increase in the spill flow rate.

摘要: A process and a device for quantity control of fuel injection by means of a fuel injection pump are proposed. With the process or with the device, the noise of a diesel engine during idling and partial loading can be reduced. The fuel injection pump includes at least one pump piston (3) which produces the pressure for the injection and delimits a pump working chamber (5), as well as a valve (26) which is opened by the element pressure in the pump working chamber (5) and closed by an electromagnetic device (34, 37). When the valve (26) is open, some of the fuel supply in the pump working chamber (5) is conveyed away through a discharge channel (29) without being injected. As this reduces the quantity of fuel injected in unit time, the overall delivery time must be prolonged. By prolonging the duration of injection, the noise of the combustion is reduced. During partial loading of the internal combustion machine, the valve (26) is closed by means of the electromagnetic device (34, 37) after a time-interval (DELTA) has elapsed since the valve was opened. The fuel which is conveyed thereafter is is injected. The magnitude of the time-interval (DELTAt) between opening and closing of the valve is determined in an electronic control unit (52) in function of load parameters (59, 62) of the internal combustion engine. During full-load operation of the internal combustion engine, the valve (26) remains closed.

摘要: A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines has a high-pressure pump (1) which delivers a definite quantity of fuel per pump cycle, and an open/shut control device (11) arranged in a first discharge channel (13). The said control device closes the discharge channel for the start of injection and opens it for the end of injection. A second discharge channel (14) of the pump working space (5) contains a control quantity during the injection process. A constant throttle (16) and a pressure gauge (17) acting together with this throttle (16) as a flow meter are arranged in the second discharge channel (14). The measured control quantity (disturbing quantity) is compensated by the electronic control device (19) in order to maintain the effective injected quantity by suitable modification of the opening time by means of the open/shut control device (11).

摘要: A fuel pumping apparatus for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine includes a pumping plunger (13) mounted in a bore (10) and movable inwardly by an engine driven cam (8) to displace fuel through an outlet (11) to an injection nozzle (12). The quantity of fuel supplied to the nozzle is controlled by a spill valve (15). The apparatus also includes a restricted flow path (19, 18) through which fuel can flow to reduce the initial rate of fuel delivery through the nozzle, the flow path including a valve formed by the plunger and the bore so that fuel can flow through the flow path only during the initial inward movement of the plunger.
