    摘要: A method for removing adipose tissue uses an elongate rigid tube or probe member (14) having a distal end (16) and a proximal end, and an axially extending lumen (20). An incision is formed in a skin surface of a patient, the tube being inserted through the incision into subcutaneous adipose tissues of the patient. Upon insertion of the tube through the incision, an ultrasonic pressure wave is generated at the proximal end of the tube, the waveform being transmitted through the tube to establish a standing wave therein. The standing ultrasonic wave in the insertion tube produces cavitation bubbles at the distal end of the tube, the bubbles causing liquefaction of adipose tissues of the patient at a surgical site located distally of the distal end of the insertion tube. Suction is applied to the lumen of the tube, thereby aspirating the liquefied adipose tissues from the surgical site through the lumen. During the entire procedure, the distal end of the tube and the adipose tissues at the surgical site are maintained at approximately body temperature.

    摘要: The apparatus includes a main vacuum source (PA) that can be connected to a series of evaporation beds (1, 1', 1'') to product a negative pressure having a preset value in the beds, in steady-state operating conditions. There is a secondary vacuum source (PB) which is suitable to produce, in one bed at a time, a negative pressure which is close to the steady-state value, and there is a valve means to selectively connect each bed, which is initially at ambient pressure, first to the secondary vacuum source (PB) and then to the main vacuum source (PA), so as to eliminate substantial pressure variations in the remaining beds when each bed is connected to the main vacuum source. The valve means includes, for each bed, a first electric valve (4, 4', 4'') on a line for connection to the outside environment, a second electric valve (5, 5', 5'') on a line (3, 3', 3'') for connection to the secondary vacuum source (PB), and a third electric valve (6, 6', 6'') on a line (2, 2', 2'') for connection to the main vacuum source (PA). There is also a control unit (7) suitable to control the cyclic sequential opening and closure of the first, second and third electric valves of each bed.

    摘要: This invention is a pull push device (10) for removing a clot. The device (10) includes an elongate tubular member (12) having a suction port (14) and an irrigation or fluid pressurization port (18) respectively connectable to a vacuum source (22) and a pressurized fluid reservoir. The tubular member also has a clot intake port (16) positionable through a patient's skin inside a clogged vascular vessel. The vacuum source (22) enables clot suction into the clot intake port (16) for severing while liquid pressure supplies fluid for clot ejection and device clearance. A single piece rotating or reciprocating cutter (28) and intake closure component (24) is mounted inside the tubular member for closing the clot intake port upon each small vacuum assisted severing of clot mass by the cutting element. By simultaneously severing the clot, and closing the intake port (16) by the closure component (24) the device automatically converts from a suction to a pressure mode, thus ejecting any clot through the suction port (14).
