Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren sowie eine Vorrichtung zum Überwachen der maximal verfügbaren Kapazität einer Batterie sowie eine unterbrechungsfreie Stromversorgung (30), die eine Prognose der aktuellen Laufzeit einer Batterie (110) ermöglichen. Hierzu wird ein Verfahren zur Verfügung gestellt, nach dem zunächst eine Mehrzahl von verschiedenen Wertebereichen der Entladeschlussspannung bereitgestellt wird. Nunmehr wird der Batterie (110) Strom entnommen, und der Entladeschlussspannungswert ermittelt, auf den die Batterie gelangt. Das Auftreten der Entladungsschlussspannungswerte wird hinsichtlich der Wertbereiche gezählt (16,17, Zähler 120,130). Für jeden Entladevorgang werden diese Schritte wiederholt. Nunmehr wird der Zählerstand jedes Zählers (120,130) ausgelesen und ein erster Faktor in Abhängigkeit von den ausgelesenen Zählerständen, welcher ein Maß für die Abnahme der maximal verfügbaren Batteriekapazität darstellt, ermittelt (17-2).

In order to determine a speech quality measure related to a signal path of a data transmission system utilized for speech transmission the invention proposes methods for determining a speech quality measure of an output speech signal (y) with respect to an input speech signal (x), wherein said input signal (x) passes through a signal path (100) of a data transmission system resulting in said output signal (y). The invention further proposes respective devices and a system adapted to perform the respective methods. The characteristics of the inventive approach comprise an estimation of individual perceptually-motivated dimension scores with the help of dedicated estimators, integration of a basic listening quality score obtained with the help of a full-reference model and the dimension scores into an overall quality estimation, and separate output of the overall quality score and the dimension scores for the purpose of planning, designing, optimizing, implementing, analyzing and monitoring speech quality.

The invention further proposes a system and a network element for performing the inventive method.

The invention relates to a method and data transfer system (10) allowing the transmission of video and/or audio data in a secure form and efficiently in terms of time via a public non-secure IP-based network, particularly the Internet. A secured VPN tunnel (5) is established from a transmitting device (40) to a receiving device (90) via the non-secure IP-based network (60). The video data to be transmitted are then encoded in a compressed video data stream and transmitted to the receiving device (90) via the VPN tunnel (50). The received video data stream is decoded there and provided to a first playback device (70).
