The computing device includes a modem to enable each of the IP applications to communicate with a network via one or more bearer channels. At least one of the bearer channels is managed by a set of packet filter rules corresponding to a Quality of Service (QoS) description. The computing device also includes a Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface to couple a host and the modem, the USB interface comprising a plurality of logical channels each comprising logical channel endpoints. Each logical channel endpoint is dedicated to a particular bearer channel.

When the two of the electronic devices are inserted together, the switch paths of each switch module corresponding to the two of the plurality of bus-bars are switched on.
