The rolling members (3) located in the load race (7) of the first revolving race (5) transmit torque between the two profiled elements (1, 2) while the rolling members (3) disposed in the load race (10) of the second revolving race (6) transmit torque between the two profiled elements (1, 2) in the opposite direction. The first and the second revolving race (5, 6) can be interconnected so as to jointly transmit torques, the return race (8, 11) of the respectively connected revolving race (5, 6) being used as a load race and the load race (7, 10) of the respectively connected revolving race (5, 6) being used as a return race.

Said mechanism comprises a spindle (1), a nut (2) surrounding said spindle and interposed therebetween rolling bodies that are disposed in a threaded groove (4) provided on the outer surface of the spindle (1) and in a corresponding threaded groove provided on the inner surface of the nut (2) and roll off in said grooves. The nut (2) comprises a plurality of profiled rings (5, 6) that are disposed one after the other in the axial direction of the spindle (1) and that mutually support one another. The threaded groove of the nut (2) is formed by two adjoining profiled rings (5, 6) and the two adjoining rings (5, 6) are fastened to each other with a gap (7) in between.
