An apparatus (10) for removing a tattoo has a tattoo gun nib (14) and a tattoo gun (12). The tattoo gun nib (14) has a nib body (28) which has a needle duct (32) for guiding at least one tattooing needle (34). The nib body (28) is connected to a reservoir (50) for holding a liquid. According to the invention, the reservoir (50) is filled with a skin irritant (52). Furthermore, the reservoir (50) is connected to the needle duct (32) via a supply duct for wetting the tattooing needle (34) with the skin irritant (52), with the supply duct (54) issuing into the needle duct (32). As a result, unnecessary dead volumes are avoided, so that the amount of skin irritant used is minimized.

The closing element is at least partly deformable, the deformation of the closing element requiring a heavier force than that required for inserting the needle into the tissue so that owing to the force exerted by the jaw on the program carrier first the needle is inserted into the tissue and subsequently by the deformation of the closing element the piston con move into the cavity.

A tattooing apparatus is provided with at least one needle carrier (17,42,47) with an arrangement of needles (19,44,46) by which means at least a number of the needles are mutually arranged according to a program of symbols and in such a manner that the tissue to be tattooed is can be pierced by the free ends of the needles. Each of the needles is hollow and is provided with an outlet opening close to it's free end for feeding a contrasting fluid into the perforation in the tissue. The apparatus is further provided with fluid feeding means and control means therefor, the fluid feeding means comprises a reservoir (16,43,54) accommodating contrasting fluid and a program carrier of non-porous material, the program carrier also including perforations (30, 49) which are directed in relation to the inlet openings of the needles.
