摘要:
The invention relates to a system for packaging minimally processed fresh vegetable products, according to which the application products are covered with a laminar wrapping provided with a certain permeability to gases, inside which the products are housed immersed in a modified atmosphere formed by nitrogen (N 2 ), carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) and oxygen (O 2 ).

The present invention relates to an injection stretch blow-molded transparent container, consisting essentially of bi-oriented polypropylene, which is filed with a gas-releasing liquid composition. The present invention also relates to the use of such container in view of containing gas-releasing liquid composition.

A package includes a support member; an oxygen sensitive product disposed on the support member; and a non-woven lid; wherein the non-woven lid has a Gurley Hill porosity (TAPPI T460) of from 1 to 10 seconds per 100 cubic centimeters. A process for packaging an oxygen sensitive product includes providing a support member; placing the oxygen sensitive product on the support member; and adhering a non-woven material to the support member such that a closed package is made; wherein the non-woven material has a Gurley Hill porosity (TAPPI T460) of from 1 to 10 seconds per 100 cubic centimeters.

Novel gas-permeable membranes which are particularly useful in the packaging of fresh cut fruit and vegetables, and other respiring biological materials. The membranes have an O 2 permeability of at least 775,000 ml/m 2 .atm.24 hrs, a P 10 ratio of at least 1.3, and a ratio of CO 2 permeability to O 2 permeability (R) of at least 1.5, and are made by forming thin polymeric coatings on microporous polymeric films. Preferred coating polymers are side chain crystalline polymers. Preferred microporous films contain inorganic fillers, particularly such films based on ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene or polypropylene. Figure 1 illustrates how O 2 permeability and R ratio vary for different coating polymers and microporous films.

A modified atmosphere package for storing oxygen sensitive goods (15) which contains a gas permeable tray (12) for holding the oxygen sensitive goods, a gas permeable film (18) positioned over and adjacent to the tray forming a wrapped tray, a barrier bag (22) with an inside surface and an outside surface within which the wrapped tray is disposed, and a pressure relief valve (24) located on the outside surface of the barrier bag. The tray contains foam material, at least about 20 volume percent of which is open cell foam with an average cell diameter of from about 0.001 to about 0.020 inches. A film of gas permeable material is disposed over and contiguous with the bottom wall of the gas permeable tray. The barrier bag has an oxygen permeability of less than 5 cubic centimers per 100 square inches per 24 hours.
