A multiple point cam-pinion latching system, for use with single or multi-door enclosures (10), which utilizes a plurality of combinational cam-pinion latch members (18) which are rotatably mounted to the inside surface of the door (12) and simultaneously driven by an elongated rack (54) which extends between such latches (18) and disconnectedly inter-engages therewith. Each combinational cam-pinion latch (18) includes a plurality of teeth (50) which disconnectedly inter-engage with apertures (52) in the rack (54) to cause simultaneous rotation thereof. A handle (16) which is connected to the door (12) and accessible from the exterior thereof drives one of the latch members (22) which in turn causes movement of the rack (54) and consequent rotation of all other combinational cam-pinion latches (18). Such latches (18) are rotatably mounted at spaced locations along the free peripheral portions of the enclosure door (12). Each latch (18) has a camming surface (58) which engages the enclosure (10) and draws the door into tightly sealed relation therewith upon closure of the door and movement of the handle (16) to cause such latches (18) to simultaneously move into their latched position. All cam-pinion latches (18) and other associated latching hardware is mounted on the door (12) in such a position that it is outside the sealed gasketed interior of the enclosure (10) when closed and latched thereto, with no portions thereof protruding through the body of the enclosure (10) to create possible leakage problems therein.

The invention relates to an electrically actuatable door opener (1) comprising a pivot latch (4) for holding or releasing a door-side snap latch with a moving stop lever (8) and with a switchover (7), which can move between a position that blocks the pivot latch (4) and a position that releases the pivot latch (4) and which interacts with the stop lever (8) in such a manner that the switchover (7) can be locked in the blocking position by means of the stop lever (8). The positioning element (16) comprises an electric motor (16), and a centrifugal force eccentric (17) is mounted on the axle of the electric motor. The electric motor is placed in the vicinity of the stop lever in order to, when the electric motor (16) is activated, strike the centrifugal force eccentric (17) against the stop lever (8) due to the rotation of the motor axle whereby moving the stop lever (8).

A door block (9) serving for blocking a door (2), which is side-hinged on a casing (3) around an opening in a container wall, against being opened by unauthorised persons. The door block comprises a rotatable closing rod (5), a handle (6) on the closing rod and a cam (7) fitted on the closing rod for engaging a keeper (8) on the casing when the door is closed and the closing rod rotated into closed position by means of the handle. The door block furthermore comprises a, seen in cross section, mainly U-shaped covering (14) having a body (16) and two flaps (17) projecting from this body, and in the blocking position extending across the closing rod with a piece of this rod located in flushing cuts (18) in the flaps and the handle encompassed between the body and the flaps; a catch hook (19) pivotally mounted in the covering for locking the closing rod in the cuts of the flaps by means of a projection (26) on the catch hook; and a lock (13) for locking the catch hook in its locking position. The door block has a simple and effective structure. It is easy to apply as it does not require any use of tools nor any kind of manipulation in the structure of the respective door. It is furthermore difficult to break open, and a possible burglary is clearly revealed by the condition in which the door block will be left by the burglary.

According to the invention, depending on the position of the bolt (7, 307, 407), there is a variable transmission ratio between the operating mechanism (8, 308, 408) and the bolt, with a time lag which increases as the bolt in a path near the first position nears said first position. Operation of the bolt consequently requires little force and can be carried out with a short movement. The clip system can be achieved by a simple construction requiring little maintenance.
