Abstract:
An integrated circuit device (200) is provided comprising a circuit board (210) and one or more digital signal processors (100) implemented thereon. The digital signal processor (100) comprises a data unit (120) comprising a function core (124) configured to perform a specific mathematical expression in order to perform at least a portion of a specific application and an instruction memory (122) storing one or more instructions configured to send commands to the control unit (110) and the data unit to perform the specific application, and a control unit configured to control the flow of data between a plurality of memory banks (130, 140) and the function core for performing the specific application, and the plurality of memory banks coupled to each of the one or more digital signal processors and comprising at least two or more local memory banks (130) integrated onto the circuit board.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to vaccine formulations comprising an immunogenic composition for inducing antibodies to both S. pneumoniae and N. meningitides in a subject. In a preferred aspect, the immunogenic composition comprises covalently conjugated recombinant PsaA ("rPsaA") from S. pneumoniae and capsular polysaccharide from N. meningitidis serogroup C. This disclosure further relates to methods for producing the immunogenic composition as well as methods for their use.
Abstract:
Signals are transmitted from at least one transmitter that is positioned in an electrical network. The signals that have been transmitted are received by the at least one single receiver at a single receiver positioned within the electrical network. At the single receiver, the received signals are analyzed and a determination from the analyzing the received signals is made as to whether a fault has occurred in the electrical network.
Abstract:
Inhibitors of Protein Phosphatase-l have been shown to slow replication of HIV -1. Inhibitors of PP 1 and their use for treatment or prevention of HIV -1 infections are disclosed.
Abstract:
Phenothiazines of formula (I) where R1 is H or -COOR, where R is selected from the group consisting of branched or unbranched alkyl groups containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and where X is selected from H, branched or unbranched alkyl groups containing from 1 to 4 carbons, and halogen, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. Particularly preferred phenothiazines are those wherein X is hydrogen, chloro, bromo or methyl, R1 is COOR, and R is methyl, ethyl or t-butyl.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to chelator compounds for chelating metal ions. In particular, the present invention relates to (thio)semicarbazone compounds and (thio)hydrazone compounds, such as PpYeT and PpYaT, which are chelators for metal ions, including iron ions. Therapeutic use of such compounds and/or their metal ion complexes, includes methods for treating and inhibiting HIV-1 replication, particularly in HIV-1 infected cells.
Abstract:
A remotely articulated display system for displaying an electronic device has a locking mechanism that is controlled by software installed on the electronic device. The software installed on the electronic device requires a user to supply an authorization input to lock and unlock the electronic device from the display system. Related methods are also disclosed herein, e.g., methods of remotely locking a display via software stored on the device being displayed, methods of locking a display via a multi-stage lock, etc.
Abstract:
Compounds and methods are described herein that are effective to modulate plant response (e.g., plant susceptibility) to environmentally-induced stress. The compounds and methods described herein advantageously may be used to modulate environmental stress resistance in a wide variety of plants. Environmental stresses include, for example, high light intensity (UV exposure), temperature (e.g., high heat), high soil salinity, and low soil moisture (e.g., drought). As used herein, environmental stresses include any conditions that result in increased generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and accumulation of ROS in the plant cells. The compounds described herein that are effective to modulate resistance to the stress prevent, directly or indirectly, or increase phosphorylation of Tyr 248 of the RACK1A protein.
