A filter unit for wastewater treatment and production of drinking water and also components which are suitable for the production and use of such filter units are described. The filter unit comprises at least one ceramic filter (3) and at least one holder (2) for liquid-tight fixing of the filter in the holder (2), with the filter being fixed in the holder by adhesive bonding using an adhesive. The holder is matched to the construction of the filter, in particular to its construction as a flat filter. A separate filtrate collection channel (21) and a holding device (18) for the filter units and other components make it possible to provide a finished filter system which is also suitable for re-equipping of existing plants.
