The present invention provides monoclonal antibodies that specifically bind to the extracellular domain of human Claudin-1 on the cell surface, thereby inhibiting HCV entry into susceptible cells and preventing HCV infection of these cells; and hybridoma cell lines which produce such monoclonal antibodies. Also provided are reagents that comprise such antibodies, and pharmaceutical compositions comprising such antibodies. Methods of treating or preventing HCV infection by administration of an inventive monoclonal antibody, or a pharmaceutical composition thereof are also described.

The polymers according to the invention comprise a polysaccharide block (17) and several hydrophobic polyacrylic blocks (18) enabling the polymer to remain intact until it reaches the colon. The polysaccharide block is degraded by the colonic microflora irrespective of the pH, while the polyacrylic blocks are solubilized at neutral pH. Colon-specific release of the active ingredients is thus provided in all cases. These polymers may serve as a coating in particular for tablets, gel capsules, granules or microgranules, or serve as matrix agents in the preparation of such pharmaceutical forms. This invention concerns the fields of medicine, pharmacy and dietetics.

The present invention also relates to core-shell or hollow shell nanoparticles coated by an external layer of the copolymer according to the invention. Several types of core-shell nanoparticles are envisaged. The invention also concerns methods for preparing said nanoparticles, as well as pharmaceutical compositions or medicaments comprising them.
