    摘要： A loop material suitable for use with a hook-and-loop fastening system, wherein the loop material includes a first fibrous nonwoven web having a first surface and a second suface and includes carded sheath-core bicomponent staple fibers in which the fibers have a sheath-core melting point differential of at least about 20 °C and a length of from about 10 mm to about 65 mm. The first fibrous nonwoven web has a thickness of at least about 0.15 mm and a basis weight of at least about 20 grams per square meter; a pattern on the first surface thereof of continuous bonded areas defining a plurality of discrete unbonded areas formed by the application of heat and pressure, wherein individual fibers within the discrete unbonded areas have at least a portion thereof extending into and bonded within the continuous bonded areas; and a percent bonded area of from about 20 to about 50 percent. If desired, a film layer may be bonded to the second surface of the first fibrous nonwoven web. Alternatively, a second fibrous nonwoven web may be bonded or laminated to the second surface of the first fibrous nonwoven web. The loop material is particularly suitable for the preparation of a releasably attachable abrasive sheet material.

    摘要： A backup pad for engaging and supporting abrasive sheets, the backup pad being mounted securely to a drive shaft to prevent relative rotation thereto, and to allow easy mounting and dismounting of the backup pad to the mounting shaft without the use of tools. The backup pad includes a body comprising a front surface and a back surface, releasable engagement means provided on the front surface for releasably engaging an abrasive article, and a mounting boss provided on said rear surface. The mounting boss includes a first end facing away from the body, and an opening in the first end of the boss, the opening being formed by an inner surface generally perpendicular to said body and defining a non-circular cross section. The opening includes elastic means such as an o-ring for releasably engaging a drive shaft mounted in said opening. Also disclosed is a method of using such a backup pad.

    摘要： The invention relates to a grinding tool, specially for hand-held oscillating devices, comprising a tool body attached to the oscillating device and to which abrasive paper (3) is fixed in a manner known per se in such a way that it can be replaced. The tool body essentially consists of a holder (1) to fix said body to the oscillating device and a coaxial flange (2) fixed thereto made of a soft flexible material and supporting the abrasive paper, the outer edge of said flange being configured in an axially flexible manner. This configuration provides the advantage that the edges do not exert great pressure on the grinding surface due to the peripheral zone of the flange or its axial flexibility.
