Abstract:
Embodiments related to a touch fastener and its methods of manufacture and use are disclosed. In one embodiment, the touch fastener may include a substrate with a first portion and a second portion displaceable relative to the first portion. A first fastening element may be formed in the first portion. When the first portion is displaced relative to the second portion, a force and/or moment generated by the displacement may cause the first fastening element to be deployed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a stud-pattern connecting system, at least consisting of two like connecting elements with structured surfaces which have a stud-like formation on one or both sides and of which the studs make a self-adjusting, form-fitting connection between the connecting elements of the stud-pattern connecting system when the connecting elements are pushed together. .
Abstract:
Abstract:
A releasable fastening arrangement includes a first fastening strip (140, 200) secured to and extending over a substrate surface (160) and having a first surface (145) carrying first fastening elements (146) extending from the surface. The releasable fastening arrangement also includes a second fastening strip (142) having a second surface carrying second fastening elements (148) that are engageable by the first fastening elements to form a releasable fastening. The first surface includes a flexible flap (204) that is surrounded by other portions of the first surface. The flap carries at least one of the first fastening elements, and has a distal edge (205) that is displaceable under peel loads applied to the at least one first fastening element carried by the flap.
Abstract:
A touch-and-close fastener part, comprising a two-dimensional carrier (1), from which a main tang (7) with at least one secondary tang (9) located on it, and supporting the main tang (7) on the carrier (1), can be respectively obtained as hooking elements (5), in particular by punching or cutting, wherein the main tang (7) can be raised up about a bending line (13), which forms a first connecting region with respect to the carrier (1), into a functional position over the carrier (1), is characterized in that the at least one secondary tang (9) forms a connecting area lying against the carrier (1) and representing a further, second connecting region.
Abstract:
A method for producing closure elements for metal touch-and-close fasteners, in a metal carrier (3) notches (13) corresponding to the outlines of hook elements (1) to be configured being made, while leaving a connecting line in each case, and bending operations being carried out in order to raise the regions delimited by the notches (13) as hooking elements (1) around the connecting lines serving as bending lines out of the plane of the carrier (3), is characterized in that the carrier (3) is guided through the region (5) of the tooth engagement between rotational bodies (7, 9) having peripheral teeth, wherein the tooth shapes of the rotational bodies (7, 9) and the type of the tooth engagement are selected such that the tooth engagement is effective with respect to cutting for the configuration of the notches (13) and effective with respect to stamping for the bending operations.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a composite fastener material (102, 140), the composite fastener material, and products (300, 430, 500) derived from the composite fastener material. The method includes providing two longitudinally continuous sheets (108, 110) of material (104, 106), positioning the two sheets to form a longitudinal, continuous interface (120) between the two sheets, joining the two sheets by introducing one or more molten plastic resins (124) in at least one lane (122, 146), one lane of the resin extending across the interface (120) under conditions that cause the resin to bond to the two sheets (108, 110), molding an array of stems (132) from at least one lane of the resin, the stems extending from an exposed surface of the composite material, and forming engageable heads on the stems to form fastener elements (132), wherein the two sheets differ from one another by one of material composition, thickness, texture, stretchability, breathability, and compressability.
Abstract:
A terminal (102) is able to receive data from a broadcast station (104) and can simultaneously participate in a wireless network via transmissions to a wireless base station (106). The terminal is able to determine time periods when data of interest to the terminal will be broadcast. It then schedules transmissions to the base station to avoid these time periods, thereby avoiding the transmissions preventing reception of the data of interest. The time periods may be determined from scheduling information transmitted by the broadcast station or a range of other means.
