Abstract:
An ion complex which comprises a water-insoluble polyion (P) and a water-soluble polyion (A) and which is insoluble in water and soluble in water-containing organic solvents. The ion complex is suitable for use as a coating material to be applied to various ionic substances (e.g., a substance having physiological activity such as anticoagulant or antibacterial activity).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the composition, process of preparation, and use of novel derivatives prepared from 1,5-bis-(4'-carbomethoxyphenyl)-1,4-pentadien-3-one. These novel compositions can act as crosslinkers with polyfunctional monomeric, oligomeric, and/or polymeric anhydrides, esters, carboxylic acids, isocyantes, epoxies, carbonates, acetoacetates, and alkoxylated melamines.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a multilayer system containing (I) at least one component (IA) which contains mesomorphic polyelectrolyte complexes or at least consists of the same and which can be produced by reacting at least one polymeric and/or oligomeric, organic, anionic polyelectrolyte (IC) with at least one polymeric and/or oligomeric, organic, cationic polyelectrolyte (ID) and/or at least one cationic tenside (IE) or at least one polymeric and/or oligomeric, organic, cationic polyelectrolyte (ID) with at least one anionic tenside (IF) in a stoichiometric or non-stoichiometric ratio in a liquid phase (IB), pouring the resulting liquid phase (IG) onto a support or into a mould and allowing it to solidify and tempering the resulting solid (IH); and (II) at least one three-dimensionally cross-linked layer (IIA) which can be produced by applying at least one aqueous, thermally hardenable coating material (IIB) containing at least one binding agent (IIC) and at least one cross-linking agent (IID), to the surface of component (IA) and thermally hardening the resulting wet layer (IIE).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a radiation curable coating composition, which is formed by mixing (A) a radiation curable lacquer comprising a compound having an olefinically unsaturated double bond with (B) a compound comprising an electron donor-functional group capable of reacting with the compound, which is present in lacquer (A) having an olefinically unsaturated double bond, in the absennce of electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength μ ≤ 500 nm. Compound (B) further can comprise a radiation curable-functional group. The invention also relates to a process for coating substrates using the radiation curable coating composition.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a thermosetting coating composition having a storage stability sufficient to be formed into a one-pack coating despite a small content of organic solvent contained therein and having a sufficient curability, and a method of forming a coating film by which the content of the organic solvent present in a coating at the time of application can be reduced. A thermosetting coating composition comprising
a component (a) having a number average molecular weight of 300 to 3000 and two or more active methylene group and/or active methine groups per molecule, a component (b) having a number average molecular weight of 200 to 3000 and two or more α,β-unsaturated carboxylic ester groups per molecule, a component (c) having an onium salt, a component (d) having an epoxy group and/or 5-membered ring carbonate group and a component (e) being an organic acid, a phenol or a Lewis acid, wherein a solid content of said coating composition at a viscosity of 100 mPa·s is 50% by weight or more at 20°C.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to aqueous compositions comprising component (A) which comprises at least one water-soluble component comprising at least one functional group that undergoes a crosslinking reaction, preferably upon drying and/or heating; and component (B) which comprises at least one film-forming material. In particular the composition is a coating composition comprising: (A) at least one polyamidoamine-epihalohydrin resin; and (B) at least one material selected from flexibilizing materials, crosslink inhibiters and combinations thereof in an amount sufficient to impart a cuttability value of less than about 15 to a substrate coated with the coating composition. Component (B) is preferably at least one polymer comprising repeating units derived from an alkyl halide having at least one double bond and an alkene, such as ethylene vinyl chloride. Coated substrates such as coated building units, such as ceiling tiles and wall boards, as well as methods of producing such coated substrates are also provided.
